A mint color palette, rustic details, and elegant style make this Alabama wedding from j.woodbery photography absolutely stunning! Complete with monogrammed details, gorgeous florals, and an adorable couple, you are going to fall in love with every bit of this loveliness! The beautiful bride, Ruthie, is here with us today to share her wedding planning story:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mom was by my side every step of our planning process– I couldn’t have done it without her! With that said, I had an INCREDIBLE month-of wedding planner (Meaghan Cease of M. Elizabeth Events) that came along beside us the month of the wedding and really made the day itself run so smoothly. Our wedding was on two floors of a barn and she kept everyone in the know of where we all needed to be and did it with such grace that it was never stressful and I knew that I could trust her. She really brought all of my details together the way I had imagined while all I could do was focus on the excitement of the day itself.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I wanted to choose vendors that I felt understood my vision for the day as well as my attitude for it– that my main focus was to marry my best friend, and not pull off just any great event. I never wanted to be super stressed with the details and all of my vendors were awesome at running with my ideas. I chose quality vendors that were mainly recommended to me by people I knew because I wanted to know that I could trust them. They were all so supportive throughout the whole process and I rested easy knowing that I had chosen people with experience that could handle whatever the day held.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I chose three words at the beginning of the planning process- simple, rustic, and elegant. I imagined a crisp day on a farm with all of our family and friends there. I wanted it to be as traditional as possible without the church, Rush and I both love the outdoors and it seemed so fitting to say our vows outside.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
With so many nerves the day of the wedding, I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it was to stand at the end of the aisle on my Dad’s arm and face Rush in my wedding dress. At that moment, I knew that all the months of planning and prepping were so worth it and it was wonderful to just take in the moments, step-by-step down the aisle to my best friend!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Don’t lose your head! It can be so stressful to try to work out all of the details of your big day. Just remind yourself why you’re doing it– you’re finally going to marry the love of your life and even if every single thing goes wrong on your big day, at the end of it you’ll still be married.
Wasn’t that the cutest?!
What details are you using to help your personality and story shine through in your wedding? I’d love to hear!
Samm
