Katie and William were married in Georgia in a beautiful cathedral church, and their elegant pink and gold wedding reception took place at the Country Club of the South. Varied centerpieces and gorgeous gold elements add just enough glamorous sparkle to this gorgeous southern wedding captured by Tessa Marie Weddings.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My family, friends, and husband definitely helped me the most with the wedding planning process! My mom, as well as my sister and Maid of Honor, Megan, were by my side in making many of the wedding related decisions, from my dress, to the flowers, to the signature cocktail, they were always there to give me advice! When the wedding day finally arrived, our coordinator Candice took the stress off my hands and ensured the entire day went smoothly!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
My husband and I really wanted to maximize the best quality for the best price when it came to vendor selection. I did a lot of research online before meeting with any vendors, it was really important to me that I liked their past work and style. I also relied heavily on recommendations from close friends. Finally, after I narrowed down my search, I met with vendors in person to make sure that we would be able to work well together and that they were receptive to our needs and vision for our wedding day.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My husband and I really wanted our wedding day to reflect our personalities and style. We wanted our day to be classic, timeless, and elegant, while keeping our guests comfortable and entertained. We selected my family’s home Catholic Church, Saint Brigid, for the ceremony location. For the reception, we decided on Country Club of the South. It was the perfect size and we were able to utilize the beautiful outdoor space as well. We set up corn hole, hand painted by my creative MOH Megan, during the cocktail hour for guests to enjoy. We also loved the golf course views, William played college golf and we thought it would be fun to tie in golf to our theme. The groom’s cake was designed in the shape of a golf hole and our signature cocktail was named “The Nineteenth Hole”. For our color scheme, I decided on shades of mint and coral complimented by gold, ivory, and lace accents. I loved the bright colors for a June wedding!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
I loved every moment of our wedding day, especially sharing it with all of our family and friends, but one moment that stands out as a favorite was definitely our first dance! We decided to try ballroom dance lessons to get us ready for our first dance and we had so much fun practicing! Our first dance to Everything by Michael Buble turned out absolutely perfect!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
If I could give one piece of advice to other brides it would be to make sure you work out all the details ahead of time, so that when your big day finally arrives, you can enjoy every minute-it goes by so fast!
So elegant and timeless- just what Katie and William wanted! And I love the pop of aqua too!
Are any of you planning your own elegant and timeless wedding? What will your color palette be?
Vendors who made it all happen…
