Is it just us, or did this year vanish before our eyes?! We can’t believe we’re already wrapping up 2017 and anticipating the countdown to midnight! There have been so many wonderful moments, beautiful celebrations, and incredible talent that we’ve had the opportunity to feature over the past year- and not to mention the big changes the whole ELD Team has experienced in our personal lives. We’re excited to welcome 2018 with open arms, but before we do, we have a stunning New Year’s Eve wedding to inspire us as we prepare to ring in the new year ourselves!

Wes and Cassie’s California wedding day was filled with gorgeous details and a clock countdown theme as they prepared to ring in the New Year with family and friends as they celebrated the start of their marriage. Velvet linens in a deep midnight blue from La Tavola paired with monochromatic florals by The Idea Emporium added elegant focal points to each table. Adorning the tables were clocks marking the countdown to the New Year around the world used as table numbers, and party hats and noise makers for guests to ring in the new year. Every detail added a fun celebratory punch to this wedding style, and we absolutely love it!

Enjoy this elegant New Year’s Eve celebration captured so beautifully by TréCreative Film&Photo! We can’t wait to continue to celebrate with each one of you in 2018!

What was your vision/style/theme/color for the day?

Dark blue, golds, silvers. Classy black and white for the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Overall, we wanted a swanky New Years Eve Look!

Describe the ceremony and what made it special.

Wes and I are non-traditional in that we wanted to walk down to Mumford and Sons! The bridal party walked down to “Not with Haste”  and the Bride walked down to “I Will Wait”. The songs just made us feel happy and that is what mattered to us. We had our good friend and mentor, Sean Morgan (Mayor of Chico) officiate the ceremony and we did an Irish Blessing during the ceremony and stuck to the traditional vows.

What advice do you have for brides planning their wedding?

Don’t get wrapped up in every little details because it can be overwhelming. Focus on the main reason you are there, to marry the one you love. Enjoy the day and just have fun. If the bride and groom are enjoying themselves there is a good chance everyone else is as well.

We’re a sucker for beautiful and creative details, but we love the advice from this bride. Details are just details if they meaning of the day is lost. Focus on the reason behind the celebration, and allow the rest to fall into place.
