From the soft and natural texture of the the flowers that give the illusion that they could have been plucked directly from the lush gardens, to the hints of sparkle that made the reception shine, this wedding exuded the simple elegance that highlights the historic charm of this elegant Connecticut wedding. Courtney and Matt’s black-tie celebration was beautifully planned and designed by Libby of Jubilee Events, while Brigham & Co. captured the joy and love that spilled through every aspect of their wedding day.
Courtney shared some of her thoughts as she reflects upon her wedding day, and you will surely lose yourself in the soft details that made their day so special.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
We worked with Libby from Jubilee Events throughout the entire wedding process and and she was nothing short of amazing. From beginning to end, as well as our wedding day itself, Libby made everything completely enjoyable, stress free and fun! I would recommend Libby and Jubilee Events to anyone who is looking for a really enjoyable wedding planning process!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
My now husband and I live on Long Island so it was extremely important to us to find someone like Libby to use their expertise when selecting vendors since our wedding location was sort of destination. We spoke to Libby about our wants and needs and she gave us a selection of preferred vendors that met our needs. We then took the time researching and speaking with each and everyone before deciding. We felt we knew if we clicked with someone after a phone or FaceTime conversation. It was important to us that we felt comfortable but also confident in all of our vender choices. All of the vendors we worked with were truly professional and amazing!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
When starting the design and planning process, it was important to us to combine both of our personal styles. The Wadsworth Mansion gave us the best of every world. We were able to really design our dream wedding because of the stunning backdrop it provided. We loved the old world feel of the mansion but it was also really important to us to keep it light and airy with a classic, romantic vibe.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
The favorite thing about our wedding was that it truly turned out better than we ever expected and that our exact vision came to life. We loved working with each and every vendor. We especially loved all of the feedback we received from our guests. From the decor to our food our guests had nothing but wonderful things to say. Our DJ, Max Baun, kept the dance floor full all night with his awesome mixes and everyone was up and dancing the entire time!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My best piece of advice is to really try and make the entire wedding process as enjoyable as possible. Your wedding day will come and go so quickly, so take the time the enjoy the whole process leading up to the big day. It is truly important to surround yourself with vendors you enjoy and are confident in. Oh and finally, if you can make a little room in your budget, I would highly recommend a wedding planner to make the process so much more enjoyable and stress free!
The detailing on Courtney’s dress is breathtaking, and don’t you just lose yourself in the soft details and grand gardens that serve as a backdrop to their wedding day?
