I love everything about this gorgeous wedding captured by Severine Photography. A black, gold, and white color palette, while simple, creates a gorgeously elegant and romantic atmosphere. Incorporating modern details in with the classic style makes for an absolutely amazing wedding- you’re going to love it! And the lovely bride, Lindsey, is here with us today sharing all about her planning experience…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Believe it or not, my now Husband was the biggest help in this planning process. Little did I know that he was such a strong DIYer! Had it not been for his handy work and multiple runs to Home Depot, things would not been completed on time!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing to me was longevity. Longevity in the sense of I didn’t just want my photographer/videographer/etc just there on my Wedding Day, I wanted them for life and every stage of it. So when I went to look at different vendors, I didn’t just look at their ability to captureweddings, I looked deeper at the events in their client’s lives that they had been apart of. Doing this allowed me to get such extraordinary talent involved in our wedding day and our future!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite thing about our wedding was my custom made Bridesmaid dresses. I found a picture (on pinterest, of course!) of these beautiful champagne with black lace overlay bridesmaid dresses. I was not able to track down the designer so I went to a local dress maker and together we were able to recreate the look with some twists to make them unique! These custom dresses turned out beautifully and allowed each of my bridesmaids to fit perfectly into their gowns.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My inspiration was truly the colors I dress in every day. I love strong blacks, modern patterns and accents of gold. So choosing a color scheme was simple, it mirrored my closet completely. From there, I took my colors and pulled together looks through Pinterest and various published weddings. At the end, we achieved a very chic and modern affair!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
For my fellow Brides, don’t turn away help because you only want things done a certain way. Had I let help in sooner in my planning process, I would have had a much less stressful last few days before the wedding. Your friends and family have so many phenomenal talents, so put them to work! You will be glad you did once it is all said and done!
I told you this was a good one! Don’t you just love the old car? So classy! And those stripes- be still my stripe-loving heart!
I love how Lindsey’s inspiration was based on the colors she wears every day! Are any of you using a color palette that includes colors that you wear on a regular basis?
Vendors who made it all happen…
