Bringing a fun vibe with a casual tented wedding and food trucks to the grounds of the beautiful estate house, The Bradford, added so much life and personality to Natalie and Justin’s North Carolina wedding.

We love the touch of color they added to their wedding day with hues of pink and a hint of navy that added a pop to their relatively neutral palette with beautiful blooms from Wildly Cultivated Floral Design. With the help and guidance of their planner, Amanda Blair by Design, this couple created a day that was a beautiful match for their personality, and we love how Radian Photography captured their love and celebration.

Make sure you catch some behind the scenes details from this beautiful bride as she shares some of her favorite moments from their wedding day.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).

We really wanted a small backyard wedding, but that quickly grew to over a hundred people. Thankfully we were still able to have the backyard feel by getting married at a small estate. We also wanted the wedding to feel like us. Choosing food trucks gave us the opportunity to incorporate both our heritages into the wedding. The Mexican food truck because I’m half Mexican and the Jamaican food truck because Justin is half Jamaican.

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

The most important thing to Justin was the food. He really wanted good food for the reception. That is why we skipped traditional catering and chose food trucks instead. We had a taco truck and Jamaican food truck that people walked up to and ordered their dinner. The most important thing to me was having a fun stress free day. That is why hiring a wedding planner was one of my top priorities. I think we definitely splurged on our wedding photographers, but they were worth it!

What were your favorite parts of the day?

One of our favorite moments was the first look. I teared up when I saw Justin and in that moment I was so happy to be getting married. When Justin saw me he smiled because he knew this was the beginning of our forever. Justin’s second favorite moment was the dinner. He had been looking forward to the food truck meal for six months. Some of my other favorite parts of the day was looking out of the window onto the patio and seeing the vision I had for my wedding come to life. I also cherish the moment my dad and I shared before he walked me down the aisle. We were the last ones to walk down and I felt so supported and loved by my dad as he gave me away.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My husband Justin was the most helpful by letting me have final say on everything and keeping me on budget. The second most helpful person was my planner Amanda Honeycutt. She is amazing at what she does and is so good at identifying a couple’s style and creating a wedding that reflects that.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

Having fun is the most important part. If you’re not having fun your doing something wrong.

Hire a wedding planner. They are worth every penny and help you with things you didn’t even know you needed help with.

Your parents will want you to invite people you don’t want to, so just set aside a table for those guests and give them a limit.

We are a little obsessed with the fact that they had food trucks cater their wedding day. Mixing in a bit of flavor with food from each of their cultural heritage made this fun detail a little more personalized to them.
