Shawna and Kenneth’s Palm Springs wedding at The Parker exudes romance, elegance, and so much love. Making sure to complement the unique style of The Parker, they utilized the beautiful property perfectly. The evening started with an al fresco dinner on the lawn, accented with chandeliers and bistro lights, followed by a reception in the ballroom, complete with a fabulous bar, lounge furniture, and of course dancing! Shades of blush and champagne all throughout the day complemented the property beautifully, and the dusty blue bridesmaid dresses were a perfect added pop to the neutral tones. Brett Hickman Photographers captured everything from the day, and we can’t wait for you to see it all and hear from Shawna about her wedding planning experience!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My wedding coordinator, Annette Hoegner, was a lifesaver and made sure the day went smoothly. She also put me in touch with several of my vendors. A longtime family friend, Dan Vazquez, designed a large part of the dinner reception as well as the ballroom reception. He took our vision and made it a reality. My dad also had a lot to do with the wedding planning, as did my mom, my stepmom, and my sister.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Since Kenneth and I were planning the wedding from across the country, we needed to work with someone local and with a lot of experience. Annette and Dan fit that bill.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
We wanted a romantic wedding, but also wanted to fit the unique style of the Parker and Palm Springs as well. The Parker has a personality of its own, so we definitely wanted to highlight it.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
The fact that all of our friends and family traveled from all over the country to spend not only the day with us, but the whole weekend with us, was definitely the best part of our wedding. A large group of our friends even stayed to spend the day after the wedding with us at the pool since that was the first time all weekend that Kenneth and I had no other obligations. It was a very memorable few days for everyone!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Don’t waste your energy stressing the small things.
