Brooke and Jimmy’s Nashville wedding was an absolute dream. Married on a crisp Autumn day in November, their timeless red and white wedding design was the perfect look for these high school sweethearts. We love how Ais Portraits captured all of the details of the day, and we can’t wait for you to see it all, as well as hear more from Brooke about the inspiration and process behind their beautiful, elegant wedding.

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My Mom was the glue that held everything together. She had great ideas, kept everything organized, and made it an amazing weekend! She has always been a great party planner, but she went over the top for our wedding.

How did you meet?

Jimmy and I are high school sweethearts. Although we are from the same home town, we went to different colleges and started our careers in different cities so we spent the better part of the first 9 years of our relationship long distance.

Tell us a little a bit about your wedding.

Timeless – this was a phrase that my Mom and I used often throughout the planning process. We went with neutral base colors, a pop of color, and mixed metals (gold, silver, rose gold).

What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?

We both have a love for music and spend a lot of our free time together listening to music so we definitely splurged on getting a live band and it was the best decision ever! We also splurged on getting a vintage jaguar, which was such a fun way to travel from the ceremony to reception and home.

Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?

The two best pieces of advice I got were about the wedding weekend itself. Our Pastor encouraged us to take a moment at the alter and look out to everyone in the pews who loved us and who were there for us and really soak that moment in. The second piece of advice I received was that once your wedding weekend comes, ENJOY IT! It’s very likely that something small will be forgotten or missed, but the special moments and memories will last forever and if you are too worried about everything being perfect you will miss those moments. We had a few small things go wrong (such as our ceremony programs were never handed out), but most people didn’t even notice! Of course it was a little disappointing since we put work into those, but ultimately it didn’t matter.
