Carolyn and Jordan exchanged their vows and danced the night away at their intimate Texas wedding at the groom’s family’s property outside of Austin.
We love that they pulled details from the family estate into the design of their day, and even included their sweet dog throughout the events of the day. Cool blues and soft peach tones created a romantic color palette that was highlighted by the lush blooms designed by Remi and Gold, and we so glad that Bespoke Events guided them through their planning process!
The romantic backyard celebration was so beautifully captured by Krystle Akin, and we hope you’ll love every detail that this couple has shared with us.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding.
We wanted our wedding to reflect the natural beauty of the hill country. Our florist, Remi and Gold, created beautiful pieces that included colors and herbs that mirrored those found naturally in the Hill Country. Our incredible planner, Lindsay Meier, made the outdoor setting feel sophisticated with lighting and linens that felt classy but still casual. We were overjoyed with the feel they created for the ceremony and reception.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We skipped cake because we both prefer pie. Just to be sure, we tried every flavor at Tiny Pies. You know, extensive research and whatnot. We ended up picking four flavors and we loved the feel for our autumnal wedding.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
We loved having our 8 year old Labrador, Scout Dog, in the ceremony. He sat with us through out the entire ceremony. And, in true form for a water dog, he jumped in the fountain as soon as he was let off a leash. He spent the ceremony playing with kids and eating BBQ scraps. He had a great time at this party.
Tell us about your wedding flowers.
I loved the blues and herbs in my bridal bouquet. As a Texan, I have a reverence for bluebonnets above all flowers. Since I couldn’t have those in my fall wedding, I love that Remi and Gold included that color scheme in their gorgeous, wild bouquets.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
My sister and brother-and-law helped us pick blackberries from our orchard last year and freeze them. The week of the wedding, we pureed the blackberries and used them in a signature cocktail, a blackberry Moscow Mule.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
My planner was incredible and I would recommend her to anybody. Just in general, I would say that wedding planning is stressful and that paying for a planner had a huge effect on my stress level leading up to the wedding. Lindsay made me feel like everything was in control and handled several behind the scenes hiccups on the day of.
We cannot get enough of this set-up. The simplicity and romance feels classic and timeless, and we love the fun little details, like the cutest selection of pies from Tiny Pies, and the couple’s adorable pup, that made this day so personal to these two newlyweds!
