Hey there everyone! I hope you all had a lovely Spring weekend! My husband and I spent the weekend dog sitting for my parents, and we had the pleasure of getting addicted to Game of Thrones (we don’t have cable), eating their food, and hanging out on their awesome patio- we were calling it our mini “vacation”. :) Oh, and did I tell you? I have something really fun called a stress fracture. Because I was trying to get back into shape by running. Apparently my foot didn’t like that idea very much. Thankfully I basically sit in front of the computer all day, so I’m hoping it’ll heal quickly!
Anyways, enough of my boring life updates- let’s get to today’s fabulously rustic farm wedding sent to us by Sivan Photography! I don’t think I need to elaborate any more other than what I’ve already said… it’s fabulous, rustic, and on a farm! Oh, and the bride Haley is sharing some insight into her wedding planning with us too! Let’s start, shall we?
The Farmhouse Inn at Hundred Acre Farm won over our hearts and served as my inspiration for a wedding that paid homage to our love of the laid-back Southern lifestyle. We immediately felt right at home under the giant heirloom oak tree, complete with tire swing. And with the Fall season (my favorite and most desperately missed time of year) in full swing, I knew the color palette need not compete with Mother Nature. So I kept it neutral with ivory, champagne, and pops of burgundy red. Overall, we simply wanted the natural environment to serve as our decor and set the tone for a soft vintage-country feel.
Other than the venue, what I might have loved most was knowing that James, myself, or a family member had laid a finger on nearly every detail of our wedding. For instance, James found an antique bathtub and refurbished it to serve as an amusing beverage cooler for our guests. The rustic burlap table runners were a gift from my mother-in-law, who patiently cut and frayed the edges of each one. My father-in-law also constructed a large chalkboard from scratch using plywood and paint for us to use as our fun photo”station” backdrop. My mom collected various pieces of lace fabric and secured them in embroidery hoops to hang from the top of our reception tent. From the signature peach sangria to my own hair and makeup, most everything was done by our friends and family. And the rest? Well some very kind and creative artists from Etsy contributed quite a bit as well.
My best piece of advice for other brides would be to keep the big picture in mind and stop “sweating the small stuff”! If at any point you feel yourself wishing the wedding would just be over, you are doing something wrong.
Thank you so much for sharing your wedding day with us Haley! And a big thank you to Sivan Photography for capturing it wonderfully!
I really love that the photo booth backdrop was a chalkboard wall! What a great idea! And did you see those lace “dream catchers”? Love those!! This wedding was full of great inspiration for a rustic, fall wedding! Are any of you planning a Fall wedding? Will you be using rustic elements?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Great advice. It’s hard sometimes though. I mean, the small stuff seems small in hindsight , but when it’s all up in your face, the small stuff seems HUGE! Like the length of the burlap runners (oh no!), or the evenness of the mustaches (oh my!), or making sure all of your out of town guests can be adults and figure out their accommodations (oh dear!). It’s exhausing at best and leads to fights and tears at worst. My best hindsight advice (which I wrote about today): Make sure you take wedding-free time to de-stress and get that big-picture perspective. Plan time to do something you love at least once a week, be in the moment and vow not think about the wedding. MWAH!
Welp, I liked every single picture! I love the farm and rustic detail from the frayed burlap table runners to the beige sweater the bride threw on for a few pictures. This bride did such a good job at carrying out the farm theme throughout all the details. Such a sweet couple too!
Love the pops of red! Gorgeous!
Wow, this wedding is absolutely beautiful… It incorporates so many of my favorite elements… thank you for the inspiration – what a precious wedding!
