Interview
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
Our weddings are focused on our couples. While we don’t feel we have a “style”, we tend to gravitate towards couples with modern, classic with modern twists, classic with eclectic elements. We capture a more glam, unique audience for sure!
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
Wedding details are all about personalization towards our couples. We don’t create cookie cutter weddings, so each of our weddings are different, focused on personal details from each couple.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Well, this is a very broad question. I am definitely more about quality versus name brand. I am a huge supporter of local businesses over chains. I will say my weakness is Kate Spade for purses, though, followed by Chanel. I gravitate towards understated elegance.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
We advise our newly engaged couples is to enjoy the engagement period. Do not forget why you are getting married. Given our current climate, we are experiencing a new normal, with so much uncertainty and many unknowns, reminding us we need to truly focus on what matters the most. Most couples get lost or overwhelmed with so many details and decisions. Hire a planner who will ease the stress and allow you to focus on your relationship, on life in general and not get bogged with so many minute details.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
Weddings have so many beautiful moments, but my ultimate, is that moment when the couple see each other for the first time at the aisle. From a planner’s standpoint, I love the thrill of the set up...that moment when all chaos is happening in getting all the details together. When we provide the room reveal for our couples, that look on their face when they see the reception space for the first time is priceless!
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I’m extremely well at listening, not so much to what they have to say, but to what they don’t say. I’m extremely observant of so many details, and have a great way of reading people. I also enjoy getting to know my couples, so when we first start the planning, I do not focus on the wedding planning, instead, I focus on the couple by going out to dinner, drinks or coffee and talk about life in general.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
Taking the time to getting to know my clients is the best way to ensure an amazing wedding. My clients quickly trust me and give me the creative freedom to design the wedding, taking away the pressure of decision-making. When my clients tell me, “You know what I like, I’ll let you decide”, you know you are doing something right!
