Happy Tuesday everyone! I was out all day yesterday at an absolutely amazing inspiration shoot that I won’t be able to share until early next year, and I’m not quite sure if I’m going to be able to wait that long! I did post some sneak peeks to Instagram though, so head on over there to see them! ;) And now on to today’s inspiration shoot from Kristin LaVoie Photography! It’s rustic, romantic, and probably in the most beautiful and serene location I’ve seen in a while! Using shades of purple with white and incorporating rustic elements (hello awesome centerpiece!), this team put together some gorgeous romantic wedding inspiration!

What do you think of that centerpiece?! I love love LOVE hanging things, and so of course I love the mason jars hanging over the table that are part of the centerpiece! And all of those desserts… my goodness my mouth is watering over here!  Thank you to Kristin LaVoie and all of the wonderful vendors who created this wedding inspiration for us!

Brides, if you’re in search of a photographer, and you want classic, yet modern, photography, this week’s Vendor of the Week, Dawn McKinstry Photography, is someone that you need to meet!

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

My photographic style is very classic – not classic in the way that your parents’ wedding photography is classic, but a modern version of classic.

I want your wedding images to stand the test of time. I don’t ever want them to look dated. The attire worn by you and your guest, and the cars in the background will have the look of the time you were married, but the styling and processing of your images will be clean and classic. Your emotion and feelings of the day will be what you feel when you look at your images, years from now. I want your images to transport you back to the day when you married your best friend, surrounded by your friends and family.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

I love seeing couples create weddings completely unique to themselves. I believe you can do anything you want when planning your wedding, not necessarily what someone else thinks your wedding should be or should have. My favorite details are those that are heartfelt and truly unique to the couple.

What is your favorite store or brand?

I’m not particularly loyal to a specific retail store. I love a great cup of coffee, whether it’s from Starbucks or a local coffee-shop, I’m perfectly happy. But there are two stores that I could move into and live among the merchandise and be perfectly happy. Relic’s in Thomasville, Georgia and Black Dog Salvage in a small town in Virginia are two places that I have trouble tearing myself away from. Things that have a history intrigue me to no end. I love dreaming of their former owners and imagining how well used and loved they once were – then bringing them home and finding new uses for them in my own home.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

The emotion of the day is my absolute favorite thing about weddings. The wedding day is the love between you and your fiance and your commitment to each other. I absolutely love being a part of that and being able to document that for you. The energy permeates everything and in the rush of the day, I love capturing the small details that make up the wedding day that might have been missed or forgotten.

What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

By nature, I am very calm and quiet. I find that reassuring and calming on a wedding day. I am with my brides about as much time as her bridesmaids are on her wedding day. Being calming and friendly during the hectic-ness of the wedding day reassures my brides that everything will turn out alright. Even if the DJ plays the wrong song, and the guests drink all their signature cocktail before the bride has any; at the end of the day, her and her husband are married – and that’s all that REALLY matters. :)

What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?

I ask my couples to fill out a Wedding Day timeline and questionnaire. This helps me keep everything running smoothly and on schedule. I can handle most hiccups without the couple noticing anything is amiss. If the ceremony runs a little long, I can make up for it in other areas of our scheduled photos. And if we get a little extra time I can use it to create some amazing portraits!

From Kimberly Chau Photography…

Patrick + Patricia celebrated their love and marriage on St. Patrick’s Day, and I cannot stop gushing about how incredibly happy and in love they look! The day started at Patricia’s apartment and I found the most amazing light coming in from their complex. The ceremony was at the beautiful St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Again, the LIGHTING was PERFECT! And gosh, I’m kinda obsessed with the Badgley Mischka shoes. Patrick and Patricia’s reception was held at the wonderful Heights Villa. Such a gorgeous venue! I just love how Patricia chose the prettiest pinks to decorate the reception hall. Also, big thanks to The Wedding Theater from Austin, TX all of that gorgeous lighting at the Heights Villa! Loved how it flared and illuminated the couple so perfectly!

Also, how cute is it that their names are Patricia and Patrick, and that they got married on St. Patrick’s Day? Love it!
