An Elegant Rustic North Carolina Wedding

Nestled in the mountains, Sarah and Adam’s North Carolina wedding day had a charming outdoorsy vibe inspired by the beautiful setting that surrounded them. With Southern traditions, and tributes to their beloved labrador, this couple’s wedding was full of memorable moments and personal touches that made for one meaningful day of celebration.

We love that Adam followed the Southern tradition of burying a bottle of bourbon to ward off rain on their wedding day, and it definitely did the trick! The day was full of sunshine making for the most beautiful and scenic views as they prepared for the day at a cabin where Sarah’s family frequently vacationed, and then later as they tied the knot at High Hampton Inn & Country Club.

Morning Light truly captured the serene setting for this couple’s wedding beautifully, and we love the intentionality of every design choice they made.

Sarah shared some insight regarding the design of their wedding day.

“The wedding was inspired by the natural beauty of the area. I wanted the flowers to feel like they were collected during a hike through the woods. I love how lush the forest is there (in fact, it actually qualifies as a rainforest!) The area where I got ready is a very special place to my family. For as long as I can remember, it has been the site for our family vacations. Our dog also played an important role on our wedding day: she appeared on our Save the Date cards, walked down the aisle, and was represented by labrador figurines on reception tables. As a special final touch, I used my grandmother’s broach in my bouquet!”

We love the little details that they pulled together to make their day extra special. Our favorite detail in their design has to be the small lab figurines that served as table number holders. It’s such a small and subtle detail, but for these pet parents, we love that it gave a nod to their favorite furry friend.

When it comes to an innovative style, unique design, and killer details, we know we can count on V List member Laura Helm of Ashton Events to knock it out of the park, and today’s romantic industrial style is nothing short of inspiring.

We love that this design came to life in the blank canvas industrial space, Haus820, in Lakeland, Florida. Pulling inspiration from the simplicity of the setting, Laura set out to create a look that strayed from typical industrial looks that incorporate lush foliage, and opted to be inspired by the lack of greenery. With a color palette of yellows and peaches mixed with accents of grey and black, the design created a sleek and romantic style that beautifully executed their vision.

This design was overflowing with details that we are giddy about. The stationery suite created by Coral Pheasant was a major introduction to this modern design. With a playful mix of typography, and touches of grayscale florals, the pieces made a beautiful first impression. We also love that the stationery style didn’t stop at invitations, but also expanded to guest welcome gifts, signage pieces, and sweet notes tied to the backs of the ceremony chairs. We also love the beautiful cake creations for the same reasons. Industrial elements mixed with painted flowers tied the subtle details together from start to finish, and Jaime Cakes created edible works of art that we are slightly obsessed with!

We absolutely love this sleek style, and how all of the details came together for this design. The simplicity of this modern design popped in the most beautiful way in this blank canvas space.

Today we are celebrating another one of our favorite V List stationery designers! Meet Jen from Blush Paper Co., a Pennsylvania based luxury stationery studio! They specialize in custom wedding invitations, foil stamping, letterpress, and digital printing.

We love their extensive selection of customizable designs featuring beautiful details like whimsical floral watercolors (a personal favorite). We are loving the soft romantic vibe that the “Sarah” invitation suite creates as it mixes peachy-pink florals on the invite and a watercolor wash across the RSVP card. Check out all of the gorgeous designs that Jen creates, and we hope you love this suite that the talented Margot Grey captured.

We created this invitation suite to reflect the couple’s love of all things nature, thanks to a palette of pink, green and grey, flowing script and botanical elements. The twine and hand-torn paper reinforced the theme, while the wax seal incorporated a quaint, vintage touch.⠀
Our Sarah invitation suite reminds me of a hidden field filled with lush, rolling gardens and a stormy sky. Can’t you just smell the flowers? The watercolor wash adds an element of surprise against the floral bouquets, and is a lovely contrast against the otherwise botanical suite.
We love seeing Sarah paired with grey envelopes and vintage stamps. Hand calligraphy adds a gorgeous touch of whimsy.

An Organic Georgia-themed Peach and White Wedding

These Pennsylvania natives celebrated the beginning of their marriage with a gorgeous peach and white wedding in their new home state of Georgia. They wanted to give their friends and family a taste of some classic Georgia style (and flavors!), and they most certainly did in the most beautiful of ways!

Mallory and Brian tied the knot at the Summerour Studio in Atlanta, Georgia. They played up the romantic atmosphere of the space by choosing soft neutrals and an organic style that incorporated fresh Georgia peaches in the floral arrangements created by Bold American Events.

One of our favorite elements that they really highlighted was their major love for food. The groom, Brian, is a chef, and they made several bold food choices that left their guests with some extremely happy tastebuds. One of their more daring options was serving a whole fish, and we love that they made instructions for guests brave enough to debone them on their own. Don’t worry, they did have experts from the catering staff to assist the less confident guests. As a favor, they offered up more Georgia-themed treats with candied pecans and peach butter made by the groom’s mother.

Another favorite detail is their Georgia postcard guest book. They collected a variety of local postcards that guests left messages on, but what made this guestbook extra special is the bride’s mom mailing them these sweet messages each week. What a beautiful way to continue to celebrate your wedding day throughout your first year of marriage!

So many special moments, and we love how Function. pulled together all of these beautiful details. We hope you love the magic that Jill Doty Photography captured as much as we do!

Mallory shared a few final words with us as some simple words of advice for future couples.

“Looking back on our wedding day, we are still so thrilled with how everything turned out. I can still remember stepping away from the party to dance in the courtyard and just soaking in the joy and beauty of our day. For any brides currently in the planning process, my one piece of advice is to pick a great team of vendors and the rest will be a piece of cake! I trusted my vendors and was absolutely blown away by their team work and execution.”
