I love how this classic Florida wedding from Amalie Orrange Photography is gorgeously timeless, with a fun Southwestern feel! From the Spanish tile favors to the Tex Mex menu, this Texas bride brought a Southwestern flair to sunny Florida, and I’m pretty much obsessed. The stunning bride, Haley, is here today to share her planning insight with us:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Becky Morgan with L.I.F.E. Events was instrumental through my wedding planning process, and on wedding day she was a complete gem! Becky and her team took charge from beginning to end, allowing myself, family and friends to simply relax and enjoy the day.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing to me when deciding who to work with for my wedding was my connection with the vendor and having the confidence that they understood my vision and I could completely trust their expertise. Once I was able to solidify my core vendors, venue/caterer, planner, photographer and florist; I really leaned on them for referrals for everything else, and because I had a connection with them, I could easily trust their recommendations.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My inspiration for my wedding details and design was the beautiful venue. Casa Feliz in Winter Park is such a gorgeous, historic venue, I wanted my wedding to showcase and compliment the house rather than compete with it. Our menu and details had a Spanish touch coinciding with the venue’s design. My goal for the wedding was for it to be simple and effortless yet classic and elegant.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
My favorite thing about the wedding, besides marrying my best friend, was a close tie between our Spanish/Tex-Mex inspired menu and the Mexican tile coaster wedding favors. It is so fun to hear from friends and family that the coasters are now a staple in their homes and offices.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My best piece of advice for brides is to hire vendors that you have a real connection with. I truly believe our wedding was so wonderful because I let the professionals do their job rather than trying to direct their every move.
Awesome advice, Haley! I must say, one of my favorite things about this wedding are the amazing favors. The tile coasters were the perfect way to tie in the bride’s Texas roots as well as remind their guests of the beyond gorgeous Spanish inspired venue. Brides, are y’all planning a special favor for your guests? I’d love to hear all of your wonderful ideas!
Happy Planning!
