This rustic yellow wedding, captured by Jen and Chris Creed, is high on charm and good looks, and big into personal details.  It features a ceremony officiated by the bride’s father, the cake topper from the bride’s grandparents’ wedding, and favors of syrup the bride’s family has made for years! The bright colors are perfect for springtime too!

From the bride:

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

Oliver and I got married at Historic Cedarwood in Nashville, TN, which is an all-inclusive wedding venue with talented designers and wedding planners on staff. I had a couple of meetings with the Cedarwood staff to set the theme and tone of what we wanted our day to be like. I did most of the details on my own, however. I spent tons of time flipping through magazines, searching online, and of course, shopping on Etsy. My husband actually joked, that I needed to put a note on the bottom of our wedding program that said, “This event was sponsored by Etsy.”

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

The most important thing for us on that day, was being surrounded by people who were fun and easy. We wanted everything to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible.

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

I wanted the day to be elegant, but with a twist of backyard fun. We set up lawn games during the cocktail hour to lighten the mood and create a sense of relaxed celebration.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

My favorite thing about our wedding was having my Dad officiate our ceremony. It was really special to have his blessing over us.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

I would just tell brides to try and relax and soak in every minute of your special day. You will forget to do something, or some detail will be missed, but at the end of the day you are married to your best friend, and it will have been the best day of your life!

I just love all the fun touches this wedding has to offer, and how they go so well with the venue’s distinctive features. How will you incorporate your personalities into your wedding details? How will they mesh with your venue’s details?

How beautiful. I love rustic (there’s a lot of rustic weddings down here in Houston) what I really love about this are the simple things. I love how the orange flowers pop from the groom and the groomsmen’s grey/blue suits, and the custard yellow bridesmaid dresses with the different variations of yellows and oranges in their bouquets. I feel like I’m in a sunset.
