Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
Originally, my path in life started with Interior Design, so I have a well established appreciation for classic design and style, but I bring a modern and fresh perspective to my event designs and work to create an overall aesthetic that feels cohesive as guests move through the experience.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
I love anything that completely delights the guests. Once, I had violinist Lindsey Stirling suddenly start playing her violin interspersed with the guests during cocktail hour to lead them down the pathway to the reception and lead the guests right into one of the most memorable Horah’s I’ve ever seen. Even though I love design and decor, sometimes the most impactful elements are truly experiential.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Personally, I love Arhaus the furniture store. That’s my happy place. Everything is so beautifully designed, well made, approachably high end, and will stand the test of time trend-wise.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
Enjoy the process. The wedding will be wonderful, but the engagement time is short and precious.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
Of course, there’s nothing more gratifying than seeing months of hard work and dedication come to fruition. But there’s one thing that always personally brings me satisfaction: The moment when I walk behind the Bride to help get her down the aisle. I whisper to her to stop while I quickly adjust her gown and veil, and once it’s perfect, I say “ok, you’re ready”. That moment is the moment that makes me tear up every time. I’m the final person to speak to her before she becomes a married woman. She has spent all this time trusting me to plan her perfect day, the words I say to her in that moment feel really important and that little quick moment is truly so special to me. I’m not just telling her that she looks perfect, I’m reminding her that she is ready for her next step in life.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
Patience, foresight and willingness to truly do whatever it takes to make my couples happy. This process can be as fun as it is stressful. I deeply understand that and I work really hard to help them navigate through it all - both during the planning and on the actual day. From nurturing a network of incredible creatives I know I can rely on to take care of my couples, to ensuring they have all the information they need to make educated decisions as they plan, to being truly flexible to do everything in my power to not only make dreams come true, but to exceed expectations, my every waking moment revolves around making this the most special day in their lives.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I start the planning process as early as I can so we can avoid overwhelm at the task list, as well as get the imperative creative partners booked so they can truly have the wedding day dream team. I don’t limit communication. I make myself as available as possible to them throughout the process and I feel that helps so much. I stay flexible. I recognize that everyone has a different personality type, and a different way they accomplish tasks and make decisions. I try to make sure I guide them through the process in a way that works for them. The integrity of the event depends on my knowledge and experience so I am fully committed to always being honest and realistic. Even if it’s an answer or advice I know the client might not want to hear, if it’s necessary, I will always educate them to the best of my knowledge and abilities.
