Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
I love to follow the current trends, as they add a fresh and fun element to each wedding. I also love to draw out the unique traits of each of my clients – what hobbies and interests they have, what cultural backgrounds they come from – and encourage them to find ways to incorporate those traits into their celebration. Additionally, my personal taste in design and art tends to lean in the modern direction. I love clean lines, sharp edges, and lots of color.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
One of my favorite moments that I’ve seen in several wedding ceremonies is a ‘blessing of the rings.’ The couple’s wedding rings are placed on a ribbon or in a box and are passed around all of their guests during the ceremony for each person to hold and bless. It’s such a special and intimate way to make every single one of your guests feel included.
What is your favorite store or brand?
I love BHLDN! I can’t get enough of the variety of styles, fabrics, and colors. Not to mention they’re a fraction of what other wedding dresses cost and they sell separates so you can mix and match to your heart’s desire!
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
I always advise newly engaged couples to sit down and discuss what are the three most important things to them on their wedding day. The answer is always different with each couple and I find that it really helps guide the design, budget, and overall planning process.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
How unique each and every single one is! I’m fortunate to be a preferred vendor at several Bay Area venues and I absolutely love that even weddings at repeat venues are individual and reflective of the couple’s personalities, cultural background, hobbies, and so much more.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I’m extremely calm under pressure, which is key on a wedding day – I’m never phased by even the biggest hiccup in the flow of the day. In fact, I thrive on being faced with something that seems impossible to overcome (like the groom forgetting the rings – yes, that’s happened to me TWICE!). I’m very organized and able to multi-task, which is important when juggling many clients all in different parts of the planning process. I never make my clients feel like they’re just one of many – your wedding is important to me and I make it a priority.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I like to have a lot of communication with my clients from the moment that they book me until their wedding day. Not only do I offer unlimited email correspondence, I also include at least five hours of consultation with every package that I offer. This means that any one of my clients can contact me with a question about some part of the process that baffles them and I hope that that in turn gives them more confidence for the rest of the planning process. I sit down with them to make sure I know what is most important to them on the day of the wedding (dancing, great food, time with friends and family) and I build and execute a detailed timeline based on that. On the day of the wedding, I am there from set up to break down and everything between – making sure that every detail is thought of and any mishaps are dealt with calmly and efficiently (and ideally without their knowledge!).
