Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
When it comes to design, I am drawn to minimalist + modern details. I like a clean + chic design that is intentional and does not look overcluttered. This doesn't mean you can't have finer things, instead, you become more intentional with what elements you incorporate in your wedding.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
Well, this is a hard one because I make sure my couples incorporate something into their wedding that resonates with them and their personalities. For example, one of my couples is Jamaican and included her culture by having rum cake as a favor for her guests. I had another couple blend their two faiths during the ceremony by having a deacon and a rabbi. During the design process, we dive deep to find out what makes your relationship tick and incorporate that into your wedding.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Banana Republic + Madewell
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
1. Don't be too hard on yourself. Going through the planning process can be emotional and overwhelming at times but you should rest assured that this is normal to experience, and doesn't make you a "bridezilla". 2. Be open to the process. When working with a planner, they have years of experience in this industry and are an asset to your wedding planning journey. The advice provided around the guest list, overall wedding investment, and design vision are key to ensuring your expectations are realistic, so make sure to listen.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
I have 2 favorite things. 1) The Ceremony. Even if you have a short ceremony, this is still my favorite part because of the meaning behind it + the vows shared between you as a couple. 2) Being able to experience the day through the eyes of my couple. It's a beautiful thing to work with a couple for so long and be able to be there for them and share in their emotions.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
Not to toot my own horn, but I would have to say my down to earth personality. Once we meet, you may think I like the finer things in life (which I do), but quickly realize I am very real + very goofy (like I don't know what to do with my hands). We are going to have a lot of fun together, so get ready!
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
We will work together from start to finish so communication is key, and there is a lot of it. There are different phases of the planning process that I walk you through to ensure you are on track, but the best part is being able to hand off the stressful and time-consuming tasks so you can enjoy your engagement to the fullest.
