Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
My style has always leaned toward the classic and refined (think Coco Chanel or Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis), with just a touch of fun. I love adding little details that you wouldn’t expect to see…even if it’s as simple as changing the color of your envelopes! While I respect trends, I don’t rely on them. My clients are celebrating a big moment in life and want a classic sophistication that allows them to look current without being too trendy.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
The wedding invitation, of course! Beyond setting the tone, your wedding invitation welcomes your guests to share in your joy and serves as an artifact of your union. It announces the journey that brought you to this milestone, the day your lives become one. I positively love working with couples to ensure this correspondence, sent from your heart, is designed to distinctly echo your sentiments and style.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Oooh, I don't know that I can choose just one. I tend to gravitate towards Michael Kors, Kate Spade, and White House Black Market. Each brand feeds my love of the classic look, but they also bring in fun colors and bold designs that take my look and elevate it beyond the predictable.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
First of all, congratulations! You are embarking on an incredibly wonderful and joyous ride. Planning a wedding, whether large or small, can be extremely stressful. Recognize that things may not always go exactly as you hope and that is alright. You are marrying someone you love with all your heart, and at the end of the day, that is truly all that matters. Enjoy the ride.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
As cliche as it sounds, it's the love. The very idea of two people, not only pledging their love, but pledging to support each other through accomplishments, triumphs, sorrows, challenges, and surprises, makes my heart happy and brings tears to my eyes.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
Prior to reinventing myself when I turned 40, I was a licensed mental health therapist working with severely abused and neglected children. This career taught me many useful things, however, listening, communication, and a keen eye for the little details are three of the main qualities that I utilize when working with couples. My greatest creations are those created in collaboration with my clients. You direct the design process and I bring your vision to life. I want you to love your stationery as much as I love designing it for you, which means your honest feedback is essential to the process.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I am the owner and designer behind everything you see. Every email is answered by myself, just as every design change is completed by me. From initial contact to delivery, I work tirelessly to ensure your final product is absolute perfection. That is why every order comes with unlimited revisions for wording, color, and minor layout changes. I want you to love your final product as much as I love designing it for you. This personalized experience is truly the heartbeat of my business and what sets me apart.
