Hi friends! You may or may not have noticed that things have been a little quiet here at ELD the past week or so. Well, it’s all for good reason, as my husband and I welcomed our beautiful daughter, Alara Anne (pronounced Ah-lar-ah), into the world on April 1st!
They say that when you make plans, God laughs, and that is surely what happened in our case! We thought we had plenty of time before Alara came, since her due date was April 12th and she is our first child- after all, the first is typically OVER due, right?! But alas, she wanted to make sure to keep us on our toes (and play a little April Fool’s joke on us), and decided that April 1st would be her birthday!
Now it’s time for a little truth. Since Alara was early, my team and I hadn’t quite finished prepping our editorial and social media calendar- we thought we still had at least 2 weeks! Heck, I was even trying to do blog posts while in labor- which didn’t work out very well. All this to say that we’re working diligently to get our posting schedule back on track, and we thank you all for your understanding and support!
And now for a little glimpse of the newborn session that we had a few days ago with Brittany Bishop Photography…
I still have to share my baby shower and maternity photos too! Obviously, another situation in which I thought I had plenty of time still… more to come soon!

Congratulations Lauren! She is absolutely beautiful, and I think it’s safe to say that we are all beyond thrilled for your growing family.
