Inspired by the spring and their very own romance, high school sweethearts Brooke and Jeff had a beautiful mint and peach wedding. The wildflowers, lace, and personal details were all captured perfectly by Saltwater Studios, and the lovely bride Brooke is here with us today to share more about her exquisite Pennsylvania wedding.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My family was a huge help through it all. Best our photographer Steph (Saltwater studios) was also fabulous! She really helped us get comfortable in front of the camera, suggested we do a first look, and really made us feel special on our big day. This all shines through in our photos which are so beautiful and special.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
The most important thing to me when deciding who to work with was honestly wedding websites. I was planning my wedding in Philadelphia while living in Virginia. Wedding websites with reviews gave me a great insight into who were the best vendors and even when they were already booked they always had someone to recommend! (if you meant which thing was most important to us as far as booking vendors/the one important element- definitely our photographer, we knew we couldn’t stretch our budget to have a videographer, so beautiful pictures were a must.)
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I would say I had a couple inspirations:
1.) Our colors- pinks, corals, mint, and gold- I wanted an ethereal and simple look
2.) Spring- I had always wanted a spring wedding and even though we got married in September I kept it fresh with spring like flowers- which were mimicked on our invitation and we even sent forget me not packets as our save the dates.
3.) Fun and Love- My husband and I were high school sweethearts and had been together for 13 years- so we wanted it to be fun and a true celebration. The beer bottle grooms cake and photobooth were all about fun!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Our ceremony and the speeches. Our ceremony was so special, we had a close family friend marry us and our wedding felt like such a validation of our long time love. The speeches at our wedding were truly amazing, my dad, my sister, and my brother in-law really outdid themselves. We laughed, we cried, and toasted!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Really let yourself enjoy your wedding day. Its so easy to get caught up in all the details and things that can go wrong or the drama that occurred while planning the wedding. Our wedding was suppose to be outside but of course it started pouring an hour before our ceremony. I was able to let myself be present and remember that this day was about marrying my best friend, I happily said “let’s move it inside” and I never had a second thought about it.
I love the simple look of the wildflowers and lace together- it’s perfect, don’t you think?
Are any of you planning on using wildflowers like the ones this couple used in their wedding decor?
Vendors who made it all happen…
