Robert and Summerlyn’s vintage, boho inspired Pensacola wedding was absolutely beautiful, and filled with personal touches all throughout. Their shared love for travel was incorporated into details of the day perfectly- including a globe for guests to sign! A color palette featuring shades of red and blush provided just the right amount of romance and character for the oceanside wedding, and we love the way that Indie Pearl Photography captured this gorgeous day.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
My first love is the ocean so I have always known I wanted to get married on the beach. Robert and I love the Gulf coast of Florida and we wanted our guests to have a great time so we chose the Margaritaville Beach Hotel in Pensacola Beach, FL. That beach is so gorgeous with its white sand and clear blue water! So we had a beach party the day before the wedding and that was so much fun! We wanted it to be somewhat intimate so we had about 100 guests total. It was a fall wedding so I wanted to utilize fall colors and my vintage style in with a coastal theme.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
The most important thing for us was our Christian beliefs and we wanted our ceremony to convey that so we decided to wash each others feet during the ceremony as an act of service to each other.
Please describe any DIY, handmade, or personal details.
I hand painted the signs with the Bible verses on them which I used to decorate the aisle with. I also made the fan programs with my friends help. There were lots of little things here and there I made to help decorate the reception.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Don’t lose sight of the big picture. It’s easy to get caught up it details of wedding planning but don’t let little things get to you if they don’t go exactly as planned. Remember the important thing is you’re marrying your best friend and that’s all that matters in the end!
