Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
I don't really have one particular style when it comes to planning weddings and events. I don't want to fit into just one "box" and I don't want my clients to feel that way either. With my background in interior design I love working with various modes of inspiration and even merging different styles together. What is most important is that I understand my clients vision and bring that out in a unique way.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
Details can really make a blah and boring wedding fun and fabulous. When the detail has meaning to the couple or represents the overall style of the wedding then it shines! We recently worked with a bride and groom that had a passion for scuba diving. We decided to use the names of reefs they had visited to name her guest tables. It was a cute and fun way to bring a personal detail into their special day.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Personally I love J Crew for all things clothing and Restoration Hardware for all things home, but you probably want to know about weddings. When it comes to handmade wedding items Etsy takes the cake. BHLDN is also another online wedding boutique that I think has some lovely little gems.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
The biggest most important piece of advice I can give a newly engaged bride is to research, research and research some more when it comes to selecting your wedding vendors. Don't hire someone based on price alone. Interview them, ask them questions and make sure they are the right vendor for you. Of course I think it is UBER important to hire a professional wedding planner that can orchestrate your wedding day and manage the team you have assembled. Having a fabulous group of professionals that you trust will make the difference between a dis-orgazanized mess and a tightly run ship.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
My favorite thing about weddings is wedding day itself. Seeing the vision turn into reality. All the pretty details, the dress, the cake, the flowers, the vendors working together, sending the bride down the aisle, her reaction when she sees the room for the first time, and sending the oh-so happy couple off at the end of the night. Each time I get the warm and fuzzies...it really is magical!
