Interview
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
We love the classically elegant style and mixing it with modern and contemporary touches.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
My favorite detail comes in with creating unique installations. Whether it be a stunning hanging floral, creative displays for escort cards or seating charts or breathtaking backdrops for ceremonies - that's what I look for in a special design. Something that sets the wedding apart from others. Something to remember.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Seriously - I'm obsessed with Sephora. It's not healthy.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
Enjoy the engagement! Take a breath from all the excitement before you start planning. It's so easy to get caught up in the million details you have to map out that it can overwhelm you. After you've reveled in the proposal, shared your story a million times with friends and family and celebrated with your engagement party, sit down together and come up with a budget and guest list. Then call us! :)
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
My favorite part is hiding at the back of the aisle with the bride/groom before they take that step out in front of everyone, walking toward their true love. When I'm dress fluffing, telling my bride/groom to breathe and take it all in and I can see the excitement in their faces ... that's what I'm most excited about for each wedding. Then I send them on their way and everything truly begins!
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I am a big personality and I know that doesn't work with everyone but I find that it helps me get along with the majority of couples. When they feel like I'm a friend on their side versus having a really black and white business relationship, it makes them open up and their true wants and needs come out. I ask the hard questions and I am honest with them. If something isn't going to work or fit into their budget, I will tell them. They need honesty and transparency and that's what they get with me.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
I make sure I take the time to get to know them (no matter if they are full planning or a wedding management client). Sometimes you can figure out what really matters or bothers someone even if they don't directly say it. With so much going on in planning, some couples don't want to "bother" us with their worries but we make sure we find those out so we can smooth things out before anything happens that warrants worry. I like to be open and hands on so that they know they can really lean on me and feel like I understand them.
