Interview:

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

I don’t think that I could put my invitation style into any one category. I create invitations that represent the personality of the client. I really love doing something clean and modern and using different media like plexiglass. I do a lot of vintage style invitations because that look is so very popular in the last few years. Many of my clients are eclectic and will have lots of fun items at the wedding and it’s my job to pull it all together. And even though I don’t do many classic style invitations, I enjoy working with couples that have a classic style and incorporate that look into a fresh invitation that is anything but typical.

What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?

My favorite invitation/detail changes with every project that I do. My latest favorite was some wax seal invitations that I just created. I also just designed two invitations made from plexiglass. An all time favorite is a suite that I created for a couple getting married at an old carnival theme park and I created tickets to wrap around the suite. I also just finished a suite for a wedding with an Alice in Wonderland theme and made silk storybooks. I love the projects where I can let my creative side work overtime.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

When it comes to wedding invitations, they are really so important. Invitations can get your guests very excited when you do something unique and different. If you open a standard old boring invitation, you are telling your guests just that – your wedding is going to be standard. So why not put a little more of the budget towards invitations and do something very fun and unique and make your guests say “wow, I can’t wait to go to this wedding”. My other advice is to shop early for invitations. Custom invitations can take a few months to design and the more time you can give your designer, the better.

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

Your wedding day really is one of the most memorable days in your life and so much planning and effort goes into that one day. I love being a part of that planning process and the overall look of the wedding that becomes a part of those memories.
