Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
Just as each bride I work with is unique in their love story, so are the invitation suites I design for their special day. It still amazes me that with each new year I still haven't had a repeat style. Yes, because of trends there may be similar aspects but It's been an amazing challenge to create designs that are truly unique to the bride regardless of current trends.
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
Hmmm... tough one! I've seen so many amazing details. But if I had to choose one.., I would say that I love the "keepsake" detail. A wedding is about so much more than what happens on that one special date. It's about the memories created that last beyond the farewell exit. I love working with Brides that want to somehow incorporate special details that their guests can walk away with that help to treasure the memories created. Whether it be a magnet went with the save the date, a custom cut wood tag to serve as a key chain sent as a detail in the invite, a photo keepsake from the photo booth, or even a special thank you note at each place setting. These are the little treasures of an event.
What is your favorite store or brand?
I would have to say Ikea for the awesome organization help and Target for the wonderful dollar spot section that has helped me create some super cute budget friendly gifts. LOVE THEM!
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
They are so many ideas, choices to make and things to do when planning a wedding... more than anything keep your focus on who you are as a couple. If you do, no matter what decisions you make... the end result will be a true reflection of you and your love story... no matter what the current trend is.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
The love, gathering of family and friends, and the overall feeling of "dream do come true".
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I truly love what I do. It's so much more than a job to me. Each new bride that I work with is like being blessed with a new friend. Our conversations are casual and inspired, filled with moments of laughter and productivity. I consider them part of the design team and for some brides they are part of the assembly team as well becuase it makes the whole design process so much more special. My process is completely tailored to their needs.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
It's important for me to work efficiently so that the stationery part of their planning can be done early on (when possible) and they can focus on the final details of the day.
