Interview
Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?
We see ourselves as a little of all of these. Classic so you have something to share with your children and your grandchildren and their children. Yet still modern because we are editing in a natural way that stays the test of time. But also fun, authentic and artistic!
What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?
I'm a softie for the something "old". So anything handed down for generations really gets me. I once had a bride have her grandmothers necklace from her wedding day inside the exact same box with a note from her grandfather that said: "to my darling wife." It's still one of my favorite photos.
What is your favorite store or brand?
Oh, that is a hard one! Does Etsy count?!?! I love shopping small and supporting small business whenever I can. I'm also a little bit of an antique junkie. If I had to choose a brick and mortar store I would have to say Home Goods or Target, I love decorating.
What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?
Have fun and don't sweat the small stuff, the day goes by so fast and at the end of it, all that really matters is that you are marrying the person that you love the most and your celebrating with all of your favorite people. Focus on the things that really matter to you and enjoy the process. Then hire your favorite photographer to make sure it is all documented just the way you want it.
What is your favorite thing about weddings?
I have so many favorite parts of the wedding day. I love the excitement and anticipation during the getting ready portion of the day. I LOVE the ceremony, so much emotion from not just the couple but everyone in attendance, and their eagerness to see each other and start their new life together. I have to say though I really really love the first dance, you can just see the joy on the couple's faces and they are ready to have some fun with their family and friends.
What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?
I'm very laid back and easy to get along with, I genuinely love people and I'm pretty excited I get to hang out with them on their best day ever. I'm not there to make your day more stressful, I'm there to keep you calm and encourage you to enjoy every moment all the while capturing some of your favorite moments that you will share for lifetimes.
What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?
We do our best to get to know the couple as much as possible before the big day. We try to keep in touch throughout the whole planning process, see if you need help, or just to let you know we are thinking of you. We also will try and make sure we meet in person before the wedding even if it's just for a cup of coffee. The more you know us, the more comfortable you will be on the wedding day. Outside of your besties, you spend the whole day with us we want to make sure we are friends.
