Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

My core style is modern botanical. I love the European garden style, but updated to be a bit more loose, with lots of texture and copious amounts of greenery. I like to use flowers that are unique and bold, either in their shape, petals, or color. I do adapt this style to meet each of my clients’ unique theme, venue, and color scheme. I love variety and texture, and ensure these are present in all aspects of my designs, from the linens, to the containers, to the types of flowers and foliage I select. As I add each layer to the design it reinforces the theme and style for each individual event.

What is your favorite wedding detail you've ever seen or created?

Bridal bouquets are my favorite piece to create in all of my weddings, because they are typically the most detailed and they set the tone for the rest of the wedding. They are usually the most detailed and intricate....with the most types of flowers than any other pieces in the weddings. I draw inspiration for the other personal flowers, ceremony decor and centerpieces from the flowers, stem wrappings and accents and colors used in the bouquet.

What is your favorite store or brand?

I am obsessed with home decorating and interior design! So you have to pull me out West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Home Goods! And I love a good antique shop!

What advice do you have for a newly engaged couple?

On your wedding day, take the time to sit back and enjoy every aspect of your wedding from the feeling you have waking up to getting dressed to seeing your groom at the end of that aisle to eating and dancing at your reception. You took the time to plan all of in the present and take pictures in your mind of all of it so you can truly remember it all! Oh and....hire a planner or a day-of coordinator...they just make everything better!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

That moment when the bride sees her bouquet for the first time. I take it out of the delivery packaging and present it to her...pointing out the flowers we choose and the details on the stem wrappings. The brides always have an emotional reaction and it feels my creative heart with joy!

What qualities do you possess that enable you to work well with brides and grooms?

I come from a business consulting background. This gave me a foundation and structure of organization, communication, and a consultative approach to my design process. Because of this my brides can count on me to help them create their vision within their budget and deliver dreamy results. Plus I am very responsive.

What steps do you take to ensure that your clients will have amazing wedding days when working with you?

We start with a detailed questionnaire that feeds into an in-person consultation at our floral design studio. From there we create detail proposals and contracts with pictures of design inspirations, specific flowers and decor items to use, and descriptions to communicate our floral design to our clients. Once the contract pricing is set, we don't modify them unless the design is changed by the client. We find this takes away the worry about what they are going to get when we arrive with their florals.
