When it comes to weddings, so many couples are color averse. In other words, they flock to the muted palette of a traditional wedding. And, while nothing is wrong with creams, golds and blushes, sometimes it’s perfectly okay to take a risk with color.
When your house is filled with bright yellows or bold reds, shouldn’t your wedding be colorful, too?! So, how do you introduce color without going overboard?
Flowers
This is the easiest way. Flowers are natural colorful, so take advantage of bold blooms like pink peonies, red dahlias and purple orchids. They’ll pop on the table or in your bouquet, allowing you to use a more neutral palette in other areas (like linens or clothing / attire).
Linens
Want to stick to classic white flowers? Then, go with colorful linens, which are a fun way to make a colorful statement. And, it’s a great way to bring in texture.
Stationery
Most people receive white envelopes and simple white stacks of paper in the mail everyday. Make your invitations stand out with a colorful envelope and brightly colored invitation. It’ll entice your guests to excitedly open their mail.
Wedding Party
Encourage your wedding party to adopt your love of color. From a rainbow of dresses to the funkiest of groomsmen socks – it’s an opportunity to let your color palette shine.
But the creativity doesn’t have to stop there. Paint your jars and vases a fun color, hire a lighting company to add color to your reception, choose a colorful cake instead of white, or wear a brightly hued pair of shoes under your dress.
What other fun ways did you (or have you) incorporated color into your big day?
