In continuation of last week’s “{Tuesday Tips} Be Committed” from Erin, this week’s tip takes it a little further with being involved as a bridesmaid in your friend’s wedding!
Be Involved
Once you have accepted the bridesmaid invitation (and financial obligation that goes along with it), get ready to celebrate!
Now, I know everyone’s schedules are really hectic and it can be a struggle to make it to every pre-wedding celebration but do your best to be as involved as possible.
Go dress shopping. It’s such an honor to get the wedding dress invite and it shouldn’t be taken lightly. Do your best to be in attendance and once you’re there, be happy and excited for your bride. We’ve all seen ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and know how important it is for a bride to have a supportive entourage. Even if it’s not your favorite dress…just keep it to yourself.
Make sure your bride knows you are there to help. Planning a wedding is an overwhelming process, so make sure you check-in with her on a regular basis. Be excited for her. Ask her questions and, most importantly, ask her if there is anything you can do to help. Even if she’s got everything under control she will appreciate the thought.
Get your party planning shoes on! Though it’s customary for the MOH to plan the bachelorette party, any extra help is usually welcome, especially if the Maid of Honor isn’t tight with some of the other attendants. If the bachelorette party is taken care of, think about getting the bridesmaids together and throwing a bridal shower.
Weddings are meant to be a happy time for everyone involved. So, be committed and be involved for the sake of your bride and when your wedding day rolls around hopefully your ‘good bridesmaid karma’ will pay off. :)
Thank you thank you to Erin for sharing this fabulous tips series! Don’t forget to check out some of the work that Erin is involved in withThe Engagement Party and The Not Wedding! So awesome!
