This inspiration shoot that I have for you all today from Alexa’s Photography takes me back to the first time I read “The Secret Garden”. The excitement, beauty, and thrill of a garden full of lush green ivy and brightly colored flowers – it’s just so much fun.

Oh, and how about an amazing video by Iron Kite Films to go along with this gorgeous inspiration…

From the Photographer:
The inspiration for this gorgeous shoot started with our two sweet models and real life love birds! Our dear friends, Zach and Louisa, were married last year and we have been busting at the seams to schedule them for a styled shoot. Louisa has the moves of a seasoned runway model and Zach is charismatic and charming. As soon as the date was set, the brainstorming commenced and we settled on “Southern Secret Garden” as our inspiration. The old world feel that you find so often in the South was provided by the O. Henry Hotel in Greensboro, NC. Overflowing rose-filled urns, Louisa’s grandmother’s lace gloves, delectable treats, and romantic lighting helped tell their love story. We hope that you find as much joy in this shoot as we did!

The details and fun of this inspiration shoot are the perfect reminder that inspiration can be found anywhere. In this case, a book (and eventual movie) combined with the southern surroundings. I’m reminded of what I was inspired by for my own wedding- the colors and shape of gumballs!

Where were some obscure places you’ve found inspiration for your wedding decor?

xo,
Brit

I absolutely adore the flowers used in this shoot. The colors are so beautiful but not overly bright or ostentatious. Great post!
