This blue and green beach wedding from KMI Photography that I have for you all today is beautiful! Between the fun colors, reminiscent of sand, surf, and water, the adorable bride and groom, and an awesome rustic chic style mixed in with nautical elements, you just can’t help but smile!
From the bride, Jenn:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Honestly, my fiancé was the most helpful person to me in the wedding planning. We used Pinterest heavily to remain organized during the planning process and made all of the decisions together. We had a destination wedding so we also relied heavily on our Planner, Brittany Adams of BAO events in Ocean Isle, NC. Day of the wedding my bridesmaids and I were busy primping, so I had three close friends work with my planner to set out all of the DIY and details.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Meet in person with them and ask for samples! We didn’t think a wedding cake was very important to us so we ended up just choosing the local bakery and we were disappointed in how our cup cake cake turned out. Even if it’s not the most important piece to your wedding, meet and check it off the list. We met with three caterers and ended up with Coastal Catering outside of Wilmington, NC. We were so glad we took the time with that because it turned out flawlessly!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
The ocean drove the inspiration for the day. Our colors were a sea foam green, burlap and white. I wanted it to blend with the beauty of the natural backdrop. I wanted “southern beach” not tropical!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
The few moments before walking down the aisle were the favorite part of the day for me. That was the special moment that I remember the most. It was very sweet to be alone with just my father before walking down the aisle. I told myself to look around and remember that moment, the moment I started my life with my husband! (Also at the end of the night we jumped in the pool, which was a really nice cap to the evening.)
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Focus on the meaning of the day and the man you’re marrying. At the end of the day nothing else matters, except the fact that you are lucky enough to have found the man that will be your best friend for the rest of your life. No matter how much you plan, things will go wrong & details will be missed, but as long as the two of you end up saying those vows, nothing else matters.
I really love Jenn’s reminder to focus on the meaning of your day. Because without your love, there wouldn’t even be a wedding, right? But speaking of wedding- how great is this one?! I love the blue and green together, paired with the nautical elements- it’s such a beautiful and different look than what is normally seen for beach weddings!
Are any of you having a beach wedding? What will you be doing for your colors? Tell me tell me! :)
Vendors who made it all happen…
