This rustic DIY wedding I have for you all today is absolutely gorgeous! It’s full of fabulous photography by Lime Green Photography, muted tones of pink and purple, awesome DIY elements, and best of all, an absolutely ecstatic bride and groom! The wedding was truly a family undertaking- so much that the bride’s parents even cleared a wooded lot next to their house as a location for the wedding! And let’s not forget the fabric flower bouquets, ribbon wands, and an amazing “unity painting” that the bride and groom did during the ceremony! The bride, Mikkel Ann, was kind enough to answer some questions about her wedding for us too, so enjoy!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Dena Yager. A great friend that helped me in the planning process and on the day of the wedding.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Dena and I love to plan events and being creative.Ā My wedding was an extreme DIY event! We made most of the decorations, invitations and programs ourselves.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
I feel like our wedding embodied our personalities perfectly. We threw out a lot of the traditional wedding moments and added our own touches! It was the best day! :)
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Realistically, everything isn’t going to go exactly as planned but remember to look at the big picture… You are marrying the love of your life!!
I just love the wonderful advice that featured brides give! It’s so honest! :) Thank you for sharing with us Mikkel Ann, and thank you to Lime Green Photography for sharing the beautiful photographs of this wedding!
This definitely was a DIY wedding, huh? I mean, creating your own ceremony and reception space? That’s what I call DIY! But of course I love all of the wonderful DIY details that Mikkel Ann and her friends and family created too! I think my favorite is the photo booth, with the “unity painting” coming in a close second. How about you? Have any favorites from this wedding? Are any of you planning on DIYing elements of your own wedding?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Love that firepit image with the lights….
Hi. I love your flowers and I was wondering how you made them or if you had a website you found that helped you with them.. I’m planning a very low budget wedding and of course flowers can be very pricey. I love your flowers and would love to try something like that. Thanks!
