What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Eye for detail and creativity. We selected vendors that matched the style and elegance that we were trying to capture.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
The inspiration started with the centerpieces, which actually was an idea that came from my mother. The two of us were shopping one day and we came across these gorgeous and simple driftwood pieces with succulents wrapped around the edges. From that point, I knew the theme would be rustic elegant garden party, if that makes any sense :)
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Having my family plan and participate in Afghan wedding traditions during the reception for all the guests to observe and enjoy, like placing henna on our hands and the aina musaf ceremony (mirror ceremony). It was such a special and fulfilling moment to see the blend of our families and cultures.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
With the advent of Pinterest and other websites, it is so easy to get carried away with planning decor and other details to the very last minute. Try your best to pick out your theme and design early and then stick to your decisions. Making last minute changes will drive you crazier than you need to be.
Oh I love Sophia’s advice to stick to your decisions! I know it’s always so tempting to change things when you find something new you like, but I definitely agree that last minute changes will just be too much work in the end.
I love how peach is subtly incorporated into all of the decor. How will you be incorporating your wedding color? In a subtle way like this wedding, or in a more bold manner?
