[Editor’s note: Hey friends! I am SO excited to introduce you all to the newest ELD contributor, Samm of Imprint Cinema! She’s one of my good friends, and also happens to be an amazing filmmaker too. You can learn a little more about her here, but right now, I’ll let her take over…]

I am so excited about my first post today! A little note-I am in love with coral colors, always have been! So how fitting that this wedding is not only gorgeous, but also filled with coral details! Plus, I love that the happiness in these photos is contagious- just looking at them has me smiling ear to ear. I love the mix of the San Miguel winery location with the bright coral and oranges with the gorgeous lace in the bride’s dress! But I have to say- I absolutely adore the portraits of these two! I feel like I snuck off with them through these photos thanks to their photographer and co-matron of honor, Lindsey Gomes. And make sure to take a peak at Billie Jo and Ray’s wonderful wedding film as well, it is so sweet!

What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?

My mom, my dad, my sister and my best friend. They all came together whether it was making center pieces, decorations, or even finding the venue for me, they were so much help because I lived 3 hours from where the ceremony took place.

What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?

My husband and I really wanted to everyone to have a good time so we knew the DJ was very important, he almost coordinates the entire wedding day, we were referred to ours because he was the best and we still have people telling us how much fun they had! For our venue we didn’t want to be restricted down to different rules (which a lot if venues have- which caterer, alcohol, etc.) my mom was able to find an amazing family owned winery that let us do pretty much anything we wanted! We were on a budget so my flowers needed to be at a decent cost, our floral lady worked out of her house, keeping the cost down for us! And my best friend was my photographer (:

What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?

Since I was on a budget, I really wanted to capture the DIY theme and still look gorgeous! I really wanted to have a lot of color and brightness throughout our set up, that’s why I used the overlays and chair sashes. I wanted a romantic feel.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding?

Everything. I really can’t pick one thing! Everything turned out so amazing, it was a perfect wedding day. If I had to choose though, it would be my husbands family and my family coming together to celebrate our day with us.

What is your best piece of advice for other brides?

You don’t need to spend thousands to have a beautiful wedding!! Do your research on everything, check out the dollar tree (most of my centerpiece items are from there!), and never forget what you’re really celebrating during the reception- two people becoming one!

I think this wedding film is just so absolutely adorable and love the things Billie Jo and Ray had to say to each other! Take a peek!

I love that after everything was said and done, Billie Jo’s favorite thing about her wedding was their families coming together to celebrate! Such a perfect reminder that weddings are about more than any one item- that they are about two people coming together to begin a new family as one!
