With a preppy blue and green color palette, and some gorgeous details, this Maryland wedding is filled with Southern hospitality! Lucky for us, Dana Cubbage Weddings was there to capture to it all, so sit back and soak it all in!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
When looking for vendors we took a lot of personal recommendations from friends. We trusted that someone else had a good experience and it really worked out in our favor! We loved so many of our vendors and would recommend them to others. Price was our other determining factor. Everything in the wedding world is so expensive we made sure to save where we could.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I’ve always loved the traditions and style of the south so I wanted to make our wedding feel like a classy, preppy, traditional wedding with southern charm.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
This question is tough because it was such an amazing day! My husband and I have agreed that the best thing about the wedding was looking around the room at our reception and seeing all of our loved ones in one place, supporting our marriage. If I had to pick a tangible item, it would be a toss up between my dress, which I wanted to wear for as long as possible, and my bouquet which had my Grandma’s earrings attached to the stem. Although she has passed, I could feel her earrings under my fingers during the ceremony and I knew she was with us in spirit. That was very special.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My advice for other brides is to remember that the most important thing is that you are committing yourself to the person you love on that day. It’s easy to get caught up in worrying about table numbers, favors, shoes, etc. but at the end of the day, no one will remember those things. Pick something you like and can afford and move on. My Dad kept telling me, “don’t sweat the small stuff – and it’s all small stuff.”
How gorgeous was that?! And I love that the advice she is passing on to all you brides is something her dad reminded her of throughout the wedding planning process!
