Sylvie and Matthew wanted their personalities to shine through on their Greenville, South Carolina wedding day, and they absolutely achieved their goal. The pair worked closely with the staff at Larkin’s Sawmill to transform the modern, industrial space into one that was warm, whimsical, and full of beautiful colors (hello, bright pink and gold!). Sylvie notes flowers were at the top of her must-have list, and floral designer, Greg Foster, did an epic job designing all of the stunning bouquets and centerpieces (the mantle creation is my favorite from the entire wedding!). However, through all of the photos by Holly Graciano Photography, you will notice their adoration for their family and friends and their deep love for each other shines brightest. Take a peek!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I received so much help from my mom and sister! They know me so well and were able to steer me in the right direction when I needed a second opinion. They were always there for advice or when I needed to vent!
My husband and I also worked with Larkin’s Catering for the reception and they were a HUGE help! They gave us great advice regarding the menu, layout design, and so much more! Our wedding day went off without a hitch because of their exceptional staff. Billy, the Event Specialist, was great to work with and was willing to answer all of our many, many questions.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
We decided to go with vendors that we felt like would have our best interests in mind and would help us pull off the wedding we always wanted. As an indecisive bride, I wanted vendors that had a lot of experience in the field and had great recommendations from friends and people within the industry. We both agree that we had the best vendors and they helped us plan our wedding from start to finish and gave us the best night of our lives!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I really wanted to emphasize the beautiful flowers of the spring season so, with the help of our florist, I were able to create a whimsical atmosphere in the warehouse inspired reception venue. I also wanted to incorporate pops of gold for a fun touch and loved how it turned out! I spent hours perusing through wedding magazines and Pinterest and was so happy with the way everything came together! We wanted to show our personalities through our design so it was definitely a compilation of our tastes.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Our favorite thing about the wedding was being able to spend it with all our friends and family. The days leading up to the wedding were perfect and we were able to host a Sunday brunch for our close friends and family the morning after. It was such a wonderful occasion and it was made so much more special by having so many friends and family travel from all over to the world to celebrate with us!
Other than that, my favorite detail of the wedding had to be the beautiful flowers! They worked perfectly with my vision and created such an amazing atmosphere along with the candles, greenery, and gold accents.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
The best advice I can give is just to keep the end goal in mind. Wedding planning is very stressful but just remember that it will all be worth it in the end! My wedding day was the best day of my life and I can honestly say that all the hard work really paid off and I was able to enjoy the day with friends and family without stressing! Take in every detail of the day because those are the moments that you will treasure for years to come. Being able to marry my best friend is what the day was all about so keep that in mind through the entire process.
