I really don’t think you can get any more gorgeous than today’s coral and navy Chesapeake Bay wedding from Maria DeForrest Photography! The colors are absolutely fabulous, and the details are perfect… you are absolutely going to love it!
From the bride, Brittany:
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Megan Pollard from Events in the City was an amazing component of helping to bring our ideas to life and creating an overall theme and flow for our wedding day. To this day I still have no idea what my wedding would’ve been without her involved! She was there for everything from keeping us on track, ideas and inspiration, vendor recommendations, late night emails, all the way to flawlessly executing our wedding on the day of while remaining calm cool and collected.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
A connection, we needed someone who understood our direction and could help to execute it.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Since we live in Virginia Beach, VA and chose to get married in Cambridge, MD we really wanted to bring the relaxed “beach” feel without being too casual and put a little modern spin on it. We took components of the beach some literal (example: coral) and other things like tying in a beachy color palette.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Well, besides getting married of course……Seeing the final product! Eric and I had the chance to go into our reception room before any of our guests and it was extremely emotional! All the hard work and planning pays off and you get to walk around see the details and have your own moment to take it all in. I highly recommend other brides to do this if possible.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Keep yourself relaxed! Do a few things at a time to keep you on track so you don’t feel overwhelmed during the planning process. On the day of take the time to take it all in because like everyone says it will FLY by. Lastly, don’t forget to breathe!
I love that Brittany and her husband incorporated beach elements into their wedding without it feeling like every other beach wedding out there! And how about those fabulous details? I think my favorite is the favors, and a close second would be the table numbers!
Are any of you planning on going a different route with a theme that usually looks a certain way? I’d love to hear!
Vendors who made it all happen…
