Milk glass. It’s kind of an obsession of mine. Every time I’m in a thrift store or antique shop, and I see a piece of milk glass, I have to have it- if it’s at the right price of course. Milk glass is seen in a lot of DIY weddings. I think it’s great for any type of wedding- vintage, modern, chic- the white plays into a lot of styles really well. Why DIY you ask? There aren’t many milk glass pieces that are large enough to have huge, intricate arrangements- just stick a few stems of flowers in a compote or bud vase, and you’re done. Not going the complete DIY route? A lot of florists have milk glass vases because brides love them so much. If you’re planning on exclusively using milk glass, and a lot of it, I would recommend trying to find a florist or planner who has milk glass available to rent.

Clean, fresh, and simple. I love milk glass! Especially because a) I can’t arrange flowers for the life of me and b) they’re perfect for everything. If you’re having a DIY wedding, milk glass is the way to go! Who’s planning on using milk glass in their wedding, and what flowers are you thinking about using? Any tips you’ve discovered or good sources for finding the vases? Leave a comment and share with us!

I think incorporating milk glass in a wedding is a great idea. I think there is a point where a bride could overdo it though. But its a great idea that would add beauty to a wedding indeed!

I borrowed a collection of different sizes and shapes of milk glass that a bride had used at her wedding for a bridal shower. We filled each piece of the milk glass with dark red roses and the contrast was beautiful!

I saw an article in marta stewart living years ago about putting candles inside milk glass – it glows beautifully.
