This wedding I have for you all today is absolutely gorgeous! It took place at the most beautiful Miami location, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, giving it an elegant and glamorous style that was carried over into the design of the wedding. Add in gorgeous purple florals and a bride and groom who are absolutely glowing with love, all captured by the amazing Captured Photography By Jenny, and you have yourself one fabulous Miami wedding! The lovely bride Danielle was kinda enough to share some of her wedding planning story with us today, so keep an eye out for her insight!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Sitting down with my fiance (now hubby) at the very beginning of the process was most helpful. We sat together and discussed the big picture – what was our vision of the wedding (elegant, tasteful, but also comfortable and fun), and what was most important to each of us. Being Italian, he was very focused on the food and making sure our guests ate well. We had long meetings with our wonderful caterer Bill Hansen, who worked with us to create a menu that reflected our personalities. He had never done a family style wedding, but it was important to us that we incorporate that element – we thought it would make the wedding much more intimate and get our guests talking.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
It was most important to me that I felt comfortable with and trusted our vendors. Every single person we worked with was respectful, really listened to me, and did not try to push ideas on me that I was not comfortable with. During this process, everyone tells you what their vision of your day is – is it crucial to consider others ideas, but to never lose touch with your original vision and what you want for yourself. I walked away from a lot of vendors who would not listen to me.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I love all shades of purple, so we tried to incorporate as much purple into the wedding as was tasteful. We were inspired by our gorgeous location – I wanted to amplify as much of the existing beauty of the location without overshadowing it. The location really was the star of our wedding – our guests felt transported to another time and place, and we loved being able to bring that to them.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
It unexpectedly rained at our wedding! I had my heart set on having the ceremony outside, but they ended up forcing us to bring it inside (luckily for my guests – who wants to sit outside in the rain?) So my very surprising favorite thing about our wedding was the intimacy of having it inside the house. It made the wedding feel smaller and I really felt that my guests were right behind me and just as in the moment as I was. Plus the purple aisle – what girl doesn’t want to walk down a purple aisle with her father? That was amazing.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Enjoy yourself! Everyone said this to me, and I cannot stress it enough: the night goes by in the blink of an eye. There are a million little details that I may have done differently, but not one of them would have changed that I had the time of my life that night. Don’t focus on the little details – sit back, relax, eat and remember on the reason you are throwing this party! Our friends continue to talk about our wedding and how much fun they had – I really believe that it was because my husband and I were on the dance floor all night, and having the best time ourselves. Your friends want to see you enjoying yourselves.
Aw, Danielle and Richard definitely do look like they had a great time, don’t they? A big thank you to Captured Photography By Jenny for sharing her gorgeous work with us!
I love the use of purple in this wedding, using several beautiful shades, but not too much. It’s perfect to go along with the gorgeous venue and the glamorous style… and the gold accents are amazing! So brides, what do you think of the purple, white, and gold together? And how amazing is this venue?!
Vendors who made it all happen…
