If you know anything about Lilly Pulitzer, the words fun and colorful are somewhat automatic when you think of the gorgeous brand, and these Lilly Pulitzer wedding ideas are all that and more! Inspired by the upcoming collaboration of Lilly Pulitzer and Target, one of our favorite planners, The Majestic Vision, teamed up with some of Palm Beach’s best wedding professionals to create a Lilly Pulitzer wedding look that would make Lilly herself happily spill her juice (pun totally intended… #spillthejuice)!
Krystal Zaskey Photography captured the beauty while Anchor Weddings Videography filmed all of the happenings, and I’m SO excited for you to see it all! Stefany of The Majestic Vision is here with us today sharing more about the design and details, all of which reflect the history and loves of Lilly Pulitzer…
It all started with a juice stand! When Lilly Pulitzer escaped the hustle and bustle of New York City for sunny Palm Beach, she never could have imagined what lay in store. Her husband Peter Pulitzer owned an orange grove. Sharing that same entrepreneurial spirit as her husband, she decided to open a juice stand on Worth Avenue. Very quickly she amassed a closet full of juice-stained clothes. In an effort to hide the juice stains, Lilly created some brightly colored dresses. Her dresses quickly became popular among those in the country’s most fashionable resort towns, including Jackie Kennedy. For the past 50 years, Lilly Pulitzer’s designs have been ultimate representation of elegant fun in the sun.
Lilly’s designs and spirit inspired this fun, bright and gorgeous styled shoot. We infused Lilly inspired details throughout the shoot, especially the custom upholstered couch with vintage 1970s Lilly Pulitzer fabric and our interpretation the Worth Ave juice stand. The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach is only a block away from Worth Ave and served as the perfect location for our theme – combining the luxury and laid back feel of Palm Beach. It truly is the quintessential Palm Beach location.
Bright and bold pinks, yellows, oranges and greens served as our fun color palette. The incredible floral and decor was provided by Orange Blossoms Florals and Event Styling perfectly highlighted the color scheme.
Lilly Pulitzer was an inspiring hostess. Her books were filled with wonderful ideas to throw the perfect party. Many times she would incorporate herbs into her centerpieces and decor. As an ode to that lesser known fact, we styled our ceremony space in the herb garden at The Colony Hotel. The bougainvillea filled pergola served as the perfect archway for our couple. The aisle was lined with green vases and white lanterns, both filled with orchids and oranges. Our bridal party, including our puppy ring bearer, were dressed in the latest Lilly Pulitzer spring line – Yellow First Impression.
Our escort cards were glasses bottles with attached name tags. These bottles were then filled with juice from our lime green juice stand. Vintage Lilly fabric was used for the awning of the juice stand, names of actual Lilly prints were used for the signature juices and various Lilly glassware was available just in case someone lost their bottle. The golden pineapples were the finishing touch in creating the fun bar area.
The tablescape was covered by a luscious garland and white glass vases, both filled with various fruit, palm fronds and bright flowers. Green glass chargers accompanied by silver roped design flatware, crystal glassware and a bottle of Onli flavored water (the guest favor!) sat a top the lemon yellow linen to set the tone. Each place setting was adorned with alternating orange and lemon calligraphed place cards, custom Lilly Pulitzer napkins and beautifully designed menu cards from Chirp Paperie. Another Lilly twist was taken with creating the monogram chair sign attached with pink ribbon.
The incredible and scrumptious 5 tier cake adds the sweetness that every wedding desires. Johnson Custom Cakes created uneven layers wrapped in lime green ribbon and filled with bright florals. The vintage pink Veuve Clicquot champagne case, palm fronds and oranges tied the cake table design to the rest of the wedding.
One of my favorite details of the shoot was in our lounge area – custom upholstered couch using vintage 1970s Lilly fabric provided by Orange Blossoms Florals and Event Styling. It was perfect spot to put up your feet and relax after a long day.
We ended the day with the bride and groom riding down Worth Ave on vintage, bamboo bikes. Even the ring bearer took a ride in the bike.
And this short video by Anchor Weddings perfectly embodies all of the beauty, color and details!

I love it all so much! If this doesn’t leave you with a smile on your face, I don’t know what will! As a Florida girl myself, seeing the essence of Florida embodied in a wedding design is pretty exciting. Oh, and Lilly Pulitzer for Target, that’s pretty darn exciting too! My big concern is that we only have one Target store in my small town… wish me luck!
A big huge thank you to all of the amazing Florida wedding vendors involved in this inspiration! They are all are amazing- be sure to check them out via the links in the vendor credits below!
