Alright, I have to start this week off with a little business- business being the featured vendor for this week! Ashton Events is the lucky culprit for this week! I actually happen to know Laura of Ashton Events personally, and she is one of the sweetest, kindest people! Ashton Events is an event design and planning company based in Lakeland, taking care of brides all over Central and West Florida. Let’s learn a little bit about Ashton Events, shall we?

Why do you see yourself as being Modern, Vintage, Classic, or Eclectic?

While we do thoroughly enjoy modern and classic weddings, we find that we best excel in Vintage and Eclectic aesthetics. We love being able to find completely unique, out-of-the-box pieces that fit into your wedding decor, as well as use the character from vintage decor that adds so much charm and personality.

What is your favorite wedding detail you’ve ever seen or created?

Ashton Events desires to make each wedding a day completely centered around the couple. Our favorite details always have a subtle significance to the couples’ story or heritage. And all time favorite would have to be seeing a couple use their invitations to tell their story, and then asking guests to fill in their future in “mad-lib” response cards that were displayed at the reception.

What is your favorite store or brand?

We love Anthropologie- they think everything through: details, creative displays, handcrafted art, etc. They offer one-of-a-kind experiences every time you are in the store. But we are also suckers for Apple. Effective, strategic communication that doesn’t waste your time. Not to mention the fact that technology is just plain seamless because of them. We’d love to be considered a balance of both.

What advice do you have for a newly engaged bride?

Find vendors who can handle all of the “production” parts of the big day, and that enjoy working together. It makes the day so much more enjoyable for both you and the vendors. You get to enjoy all of the festivities, and they are able to rely on each other to make the day what you want!

What is your favorite thing about weddings?

The first dance. Seeing the couple have just a few quiet moments on the floor- after they have enjoyed a sweet ceremony, and have had a glimpse at the reception site- and yet it just comes back to them. All the hustle and bustle has died away, and they get to just relish in the this sweet moment.

Hi Emily! Sorry for the delay in responding- We just saw your question. We actually made those for the bride. While we love working with stationers (and have our favorites!) we designed these specifically for this wedding. If you are looking for something similar, just let us know!
