An elegant evening in the historical Lounsbury House in Greenwich was the perfect setting for Lia and Diego’s Connecticut wedding. An avid vintage collector, the bride was inspired to bring the elegant vintage feel of her home into the design of the day, and we love how she incorporated these personal tastes into their wedding day style.
Double G Events, Planning + Design guided this bride and groom through the planning and design of their beautiful day, and every detail was chosen with such care and intention. We love how Monika Photography brought this lovely day to life! Enjoy the beauty of Lia and Diego’s wedding day, along with some insight into what made their day so special.
Tell us a little a bit about your wedding (your vision, color, style, and location choices).
Victorian ascetics have become a theme for us. We chose the Lounsbury House because of this and the decor evolved naturally from there.
What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip?
We decided early on that food and beverage would be the most important for our families and our memories. We splurged on catering but it was worth every penny. Our guests are constantly reminding us of how delicious the menu was, so to us that was a win.
What were your favorite parts of the day?
My brother in law’s wedding speech was very moving. The day went so quickly I barely remember details but having our families from all over the country (and world in some cases) was such a beautiful thing.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My wedding planner helped a lot. I am not native to CT and had only been living here for a short time. Without Maggie, I would have been lost picking vendors off the internet in a random way.
Do you have any advice for couples planning their weddings now?
Remember that this party is for and about you both. Try not to allow outside noise to influence things.
We love how down to Earth this couple seems, and their elegant vintage style was an absolute dream for their wedding day!
