I love everything about today’s drop-dead gorgeous wedding from Kristen Weaver Photography! There aren’t enough superlatives for this couple’s wedding venue- the ceremony locale is stunning and the unbelievable reception (ladies, this is what uplighting can do for your event!) has me swooning.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Planning process- my husband! I was finishing up another semester of college and was completely overwhelmed with planning the wedding, taking care of things for classes and also soaking in the best surprise, that we were expecting our first child together. My husband and i sat at our kitchen table one night talking about the wedding and from that point forward he was all over helping with every aspect of our day.
Our wedding day would not have been the same without the help of Kristen, Lisa and Rachel from An Affair To Remember (and their interns!). They helped make things go as smooth as possible and were all over being sure that things were exactly as we wanted.
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I can be a bit of a control freak. That being said, I needed people who I felt listened to exactly what I wanted and could help to make things even more beautiful than I imagined.
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
Honestly, I had a ton of ideas and inspiration. I was kind of all over the place when designing our wedding and at one point I was like, oh no, none of this is going to look right together. In the end it all ended up coming together beautifully.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
A million things. The most special thing about our wedding was having a sand ceremony and my stepsons being a part of it, too. Also, our photographer, Kristen Weaver and our videographers, David and Maureen from VHVideo did the most incredible jobs. Kristen, David and Maureen provided us the most beautiful memories from every moment of our wedding day.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Don’t try to do it all on your own! Hire a professional to at least help coordinate all of the day of craziness. If I hadn’t had the help from An Affair To Remember, I don’t think anything would have gone even close to how we wanted it to.
I am always amazed by what uplighting and luxury linens can do for a venue. They can be truly transformative! Are any of y’all planning a ceremony or reception site overhaul? I’d love to know your plans, so sound off in the comments below!
XOXO,
Carlee
