Greg & Caitlin had a specific, beautiful vision in mind when it came to planning their Georgetown wedding day. Greg proposed to Caitlin at the Lincoln Memorial, which was perfect considering their love of history and tradition. From an adorable invitation including a map of D.C., to a fresh color palette of blush and peach, their wedding day is beautifully elegant, simple and timeless. Lindsay Fauver Photography captured the moments of the day perfectly, and I imagine they will be shared amongst friends and families for decades to come.
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
My mom and sister were incredible in helping plan my wedding. My mother is such a calming presence, and my sister was the best MOH I could have asked for! From planning my shower to my bachelorette weekend in Nashville, Callie made me feel special every step of the way. I can’t wait to repay the favor one day!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
When selecting vendors, the number one thing I looked for was a joyful personality! After all, the vendors you select are invited to take part in one of the best days of your life! Lindsay Fauver was such a joy to work with!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
My inspiration: I’m a Washington, DC native who married a true southern gentleman. We wanted our wedding to reflect both of our upbringings, our shared values, and our love of family. Our day was perfect in every way!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Our favorite thing about our wedding was the ceremony – the music, the message, the communion shared between family and friends. It was a demonstration of our faith and desire to honor God through marriage.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Best advice – Enjoy every minute – your wedding day will go by faster than you expect! And remember, while your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life, you are ultimately preparing for a long, life-giving marriage. Let that be what guides your decisions!
