Well, despite what my brain keeps telling me, today IS Wednesday, which means a huge featured wedding! :) This wedding that I have for you all today is from ELV photographers Caroline & Evan Photography, who just so happen to also be my good friends and of course amazing photographers! What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
I used The Knot’s forums for inspiration but ultimately it was my wedding planner (Tammy with Special Moments) who helped put my ideas together. I had a vision for what I wanted my wedding to look like — just no direction. She helped tie all my ideas together into something fabulous!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I splurged on photography and minimized my budget in other places. I wanted amazing photographs to look back on this day. A hip DJ was also important — I wanted a fun party.
Did any of your vendors do anything special for you before, on, or after your wedding day that you would like to share?
My wedding planner and her team went above and beyond their call of duty and even became bartenders for the night. I wanted specialty shots and they offered to mix them throughout the night! It was amazing and very well organized. My guests definitely enjoyed them. :)
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
I loved how FUN it was. I tried new things, we took risks. Shots every hour, we had a live ska band that my husband organized (and even sang with!), we had a special photo area with chalkboard props. We didn’t stick to anything traditional and loved it.
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Do things that make sense to you as a couple. It didn’t make sense for us to have a sit down formal affair — that’s just not how we are. We wanted a lively party and I think the photographs show that. :)
