Friends, I am SO excited about this carnival-themed wedding I have for you all today! It was planned and designed by my friend and ELV member, Ashton Events, so all of the details are of course absolutely perfect! Not only that, but the photography by Blue Kite Photography is gorgeous, and to top it all off, I also have an amazing trailer of the wedding by Indie Atlantic Films for you! And we get to hear all about this wedding from the lovely bride Amy too! So grab your coffee/tea/beverage and soak in all of the amazingness (totally a word in my world) of this wedding!
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Ashton Events, (Laura), did a wonderful job from the inspiration of it all to the “day of”. Her organizational skills made things seem easy, and her creativity carried the planning along. (I do have to give credit to my crafty mother who spent way too much time with burlap! :))
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
I wanted to ensure that our planner would be able to help us find the best deals around town, while still capturing and enhancing the unique style of our wedding. Ashton Events did just that!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
While starting the planning process I knew I wanted our wedding to be whimsical and fun with a touch of old class. Being very visual, I really took note and explored other wedding photos online to borrow/recreate ideas. Soon colors were decided as was our style…a vintage carnival. (I was a bit nervous of explaining my vision of this theme to friends and especially vendors. Elephants and clowns was not where my mind was leading, yet a tasteful carnival where kissing-booths, corn-hole, and peanuts were known.) With the help of Ashton Events, (Laura), and my crafty mother, the ideas and vision turned into perfect details.
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
A favorite, (there are just too many), about our wedding would have to be the fun food. The Terrace Hotel did an amazing job helping create a menu that mimicked that of a true carnival. Stations were set-up where guests could walk around as if at a carnival and choose amongst the barbecue sliders or Sirloin sundaes, fried macaroni and cheese balls, coleslaw cups, mini corn on the cobs, etc. The stations also allowed for a fun atmosphere as there was lots of movement which made grooving on the dance floor a bit more comfortable later on. ;)
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
My advice to other brides would be to hire a videographer! :) This was a detail I almost missed out on as I thought pictures would be “plenty”. Thank goodness, Ashton Events encouraged us to hire Indie Atlantic, and at the last minute we agreed. Our video has been SUCH a treasure. So yes, don’t pass up videography which allows you a forever movie of your day and it’s details!
And now speaking of hiring a videographer, you absolutely HAVE to see this video… Indie Atlantic Films captured the love and emotion (and the details too!) so beautifully!

Everything is so very amazing about this wedding, isn’t it?! There’s something so fun about a wedding with unique and personal details! I love that they had the cute little “nuts about each other” jars with peanuts on all of the tables- what a fun way to incorporate the carnival theme into the centerpieces.
How about you- do you have any favorite details from this carnival-themed wedding? Will your own wedding be styled around a particular theme too?
Vendors who made it all happen…

Lauren,
I love everything about this wedding. I know there are those ‘must-have’ moments (first kiss, first dance, first look) but I always love to see the getting ready shots. You can almost feel the excitement in the room. The DIY details on this wedding are so fun… custom cornhole, a kissing booth, the tin cans tied to the getaway car… it must have been fun to be a guest at this one!
