Happy Friday everyone! It’s time for the weekly feature of a Detail To Love! Lately I’ve been kind of OBSESSED with cakes. There’s just something so amazing about a wonderfully designed cake. What I love the most is that you can make a huge design statement with your cake by making it a focal point of your wedding reception… which is precisely where cake backdrops come in! A few of my favorites…

I love anything that adds a bit of pretty to a wedding, and cake backdrops certainly do just that! Plus, it’s a great idea if you’re wanting something that will WOW your guests, but don’t necessarily have the budget to do an extravagant cake! So what do you think? Are you going to do a cake backdrop for your own wedding? If so, what will you be doing?

Very useful post! At our most recent wedding the backdrop was a blank white wall — the cake was lovely (and tasty) but the photos would have had a lot more sizzle if there had been a backdrop.

Love this article.. you have no idea how many horrible backdrops I have seen over the last 20 years. I always mention this detail to my brides and still end up seeing the top 3: fire extinguisher, panic door exit devices and a row of switches/control.. I do not know how the photographers work around these in photos.
