There is definitely no shortage of fun in this confetti inspired wedding from Holly Gardner Photography! The beautiful bride Laurie’s love for sparkle, glitter, and confetti set the tone for a waterside Florida wedding that reflected her and her new husband perfectly! Laurie is here with us today to share some insight into planning her fun and colorful wedding…
What (or who) helped you most in your planning process and/or on your wedding day?
Honestly, I handled almost all of the planning myself. I am an organized person and had a good idea of what I wanted my big day to encompass, so I made quick decisions and kept the plans very organized and simple. I used a binder to keep all the details (ideas, contracts, addresses, spreadsheets, etc) in order and easy to locate. My mother, was my go-to if I needed help on a decision. The binder was most helpful and I highly recommend keeping one!
What was the most important thing to you when deciding who to work with for your wedding?
Our wedding was at Santa Rosa Beach. I needed to rely on researching websites, blogs and personal reviews to choose venues and vendors. Selecting a photographer was of utmost importance as photos are the lasting memories of all the details of your special day! After choosing Holly Gardner, she and I communicated regularly by phone and email compiling a list of essential photos. She expertly made certain to photograph each important moment. Our reception venue had an excellent coordinator who handled all of the wedding day specifics with our chosen vendors. Her attention to each detail afforded me a “stress-free” day to enjoy being a bride!
What was your inspiration for your wedding details and/or design?
I am a bit of a glitter enthusiast, so I knew that I wanted my big day to include lots of sparkle. I used hints of metallic gold and glitter accents in my decor and favors. I also knew that I wanted our grand exit to include lots of confetti!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding?
Our glitter surprise!! Many of our guests made glitter signs with unique wedding wishes. Ray and I went outside to have pictures made at sunset. While we were out, our guests gathered at the door with their signs and surprised us as we came back inside. There was so much sparkle as we entered! Our family and friends were all cheering, waving their signs and throwing gold confetti. I was so stunned and just thrilled!!
What is your best piece of advice for other brides?
Plan ahead and keep it simple! There’s no need to be stressed on the most exciting day of your life. For me, the day was about focusing on our vows and celebrating our marriage. I didn’t want to worry about pleasing each person there. This was “our” day and it was JUST PERFECT!!
Oh I love Laurie’s advice! I love how she kept in mind that their wedding was about celebrating their love and marriage! And let’s talk about the glitter and confetti… how FUN is that?!
Are any of you inspired by something in particular -like confetti- for your own wedding? I’d love to hear!
Vendors who made it all happen…

That wedding looks amazing! Classy and fun!
LOVE the fresh glitter details! That hanger is so cute!
I’m fond of glitters too. I even made cards filled of glitters before. Anyway, this is a nice idea. Glitters look really beautiful in the dark, so it’s best to have the wedding in the afternoon and the reception go through the night. If I’ll be a wedding coordinator, I’ll make sure that glittery effect will leave impact to the visitors. And yeah, the confetti. Who would have not love them? I just wish that the tables were also adorned with confetti since the motif is confetti too.
