An annual evening of inspiration like none other. Starlit Supper is a celebration that we eagerly anticipate every year, and this past January, we had the opportunity to once again host this special night with our dear friend Laura Helm of Ashton Events.
What started six years ago as a small, intimate dinner party with a few local vendors has become an evening of inspiration that pushes the limits. It’s delicious food, engaging conversation, and a time for some of the best vendors in Central Florida and beyond (many of them V List Members) to come together and reflect on and celebrate the year behind us.
This year, we returned to Haus 820 where Laura and the Ashton Events team pulled off their vision that pushed the limits of creativity by designing a colorful, Andy Warhol pop art inspired style that walked a fine line between a funky off-beat style and a splash of bold elegance. From color-blocked tables featuring monochromatic florals for each table, to incredible art installations that created a unique art show feel, the amazing vendor team crafted moments for guests to experience throughout each part of the evening.
We are so thrilled to walk you through some of our favorite details and moments that made this day so special and incredibly inspiring for not only us, but for all of our wonderful friends that joined us. So much color and fun collided in the most perfect way, and we can’t wait for you to scroll through the beauty captured by Marc Edwards as we celebrate the work and creativity of all those who made this event possible.
This evening of celebration began weeks before we all came together with the prettiest pieces of mail. Eleven Note created a magazine style invitation that was the perfect work of art that set the tone for the day. Throughout the evening, fun pieces of art were featured from place cards and menus to hanging dessert posters that helped carry the theme through. Make sure you catch the “Go Bananas” table where guests RSVP cards doubled as a reflection of the successes that we were each celebrating from the year prior.
One of our favorite parts of Starlit Supper is that it’s not only centered around beautiful and inspiring design, but it’s also focused around a real couple. Each year, we select an engaged couple to be our guests of honor for the evening. Our bride-to-be was pampered with hair and makeup by Brie & Brie in a more traditional style, then swapped to a pop art style for the party. Dressed by Camilyn Beth and Bespoke & Co. our couple were definitely party ready!
There were so many incredible elements that came together to create the artistic feel for the design. From the industrial designs making up the cocktail hour, to the colorful lounge and the message found in the shadows across the walls, The Revel Co. was integral in making art both fun and functional in the space. Between the Ashton Events Team and The Revel Co Team, they brought their game faces with these installations. From hundreds of feet of yarn suspended from the exposed beams (seriously, the AE team is incredible) and the hanging escort display to the precision that it took to create the most perfect Starlit Supper shadows, we are blown away!
Guests were greeted with metallic cartoon style pop art doors as they entered Haus 820. With colorful lighting, a hanging escort display made from paint-dipped paint stir sticks, and music from Jared Violin, an electric violinist, the mood was set for the start of something amazing.
Though the different art installation elements were a main focal point of the design, the guest tables themselves created an artistic feature of their own. With the soft texture and bold colors of the linens from Nuage Design, paired with their sleek, modern white chairs, the stage was set. Treasury Rentals mimicked the color-blocking of the flowers with colorful glassware paired with elegant place settings containing a bold pop of black to pull in the modern tones of the day, while A Chair Affair provided feasting tables and barware to create the base for the overall look. With the tables set, the guests were able to gather and enjoy an evening of conversation over a family-style dinner from Good Food Catering.
The art theme continued on with an incredible balloon feature from Party People Events that featured an electric glow, and we love how the mirror booth from Southern Event Rentals offered a different way for guests to experience the fun of a photo booth.
Laura’s creativity behind this dessert display was one of our favorite elements. With the hanging pop art prints to label each sweet treat, and the most delicious works of art created by Jaime Cakes, we wish every dessert station was this fun and tasty!
We all know that the entertainment can make or break any party, and we were grateful to have our good friend Jacob Towe bring the party in so many different ways. From the lighting features that hung over the tables, to setting the mood with the music selection, he was able to get all of us on our feet to dance the night away. While Spunky Spirits kept the bar hopping, Jacob kept the dance floor packed. You’ll have to check out the video to catch some of our best dance moves!
We could seriously go on about this evening for ages, but experiencing it for yourself is probably a little better. Randall Productions took the excitement from the day and brought it to life in the absolute best way. Check out a little behind the scenes from what made this all possible all the way through our final goodbyes for the night.
As we sit and watch this video on repeat, we just want to extend one more thank you to every person (seen in that last photo above!) who made this evening possible. We strive to bring you the absolute best inspiration, and this is an event that each year really raises the bar in creativity. We love that we get to work alongside some of our closest friends, and the best wedding vendors in Central Florida, to make this day possible!
